3/27/07: Dooney is a male pup from Cassidy's litter, 3 weeks old, rescued from the N.D. Puppy Mill.
Dooney is the littlest of the boys, and so far has a very calm, sweet nature. He is quickly becoming one of my daughter's "favorites", after his Mom Cassidy of course! Dooney weighs just over 5 lbs. and had his first check-up at the vet today. He was given a second dose of meds for his sarcoptic mange, as well as his first de-worming. He is a sweetheart and always sits still for his photo shoots :)
Dooney would very much like to say THANK YOU to his sponsor Wendy J!
Dooney (left) reads the newspaper instead of napping like his siblings. The pups have been to the vet yet again, and it was discovered that they have lice, to go along with the itchy sarcoptic mites they have. I gave all the pups a sulfur/lime dip because they are still too young to receive any other medications. It has been a couple days and all the pups are much improved, much less itching, and I am hopeful we got rid of the majority of the lice. We will follow up with another treatment (Revolution) on Thursday, and the pups will begin to meet their prospective families in a week or so.
