I am temporarily caring for a new RAGOM girl named Millie. Millie is a Golden mix who was brought to Sioux City Animal Control as a stray. She is a medium size dog (~65 lbs), perhaps 3-4 years old, and her fur is incredibly soft and fluffy. When I picked her up at the shelter, she was a little nervous and afraid to get the car. But once we got going she was fine and gave me a big "thank you for getting me out of there" smile! When we got home, Millie met the other dogs (five!) and got along great with all of them. She even played a few doggie games. I also introduced her to our three cats; she sniffed them a little, decided they weren't terribly interesting and then moved on to explore the rest of the house. Millie also played very nicely with our 4-year-old daughter; she is playful, yet still very gentle with the little ones. And she has not had any accidents, so it is safe to say she is housetrained. She respects the baby gates and I haven't seen any resource guarding or aggression of any kind. Millie is very, very affectionate; she loves to snuggle and give kisses. Millie would be a wonderful addition to any family.
I will bring Millie to the RAGOM picnic on September 22, so everyone will have a chance to meet this special girl.

Millie has been with me since the RAGOM picnic on September 22nd when I took over as her temporary foster for a couple of weeks. She is a sweetheart! She is very loving and wiggly and wants to give lots of kisses. I think she is feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the changes in her life since she was rescued from a South Dakota shelter as she does not want to let me out of her sight. When I do leave the house for a few hours, she just settles down and waits. She is not destructive & is super happy to see me when I return. She has been to the vet who has given her a clean bill of health except for minor ear infections which we are treating. She is a lovely dog.
Millie has a forever home and will be adopted this week.
Millie has been adopted by Mary! Hooray for Millie!
It has been like heaven with Millie for the last 3 years. I’m sorry we haven’t been contacting you, so I wanted to do it today. Life is good with Millie. She used to be so scared of cars when she first arrived with us. Now, it’s like a home outside her real one. She loves to play with dogs, and when we take her to the dog park, she likes to do her running game that we like to call her “figure 8.” She also loves to go to our cabin down in Brainerd, MN. However, we don’t exactly know why, but she doesn’t like going in the water. She is best friends with our cat, Opie. She was the best dog in the world until my grandparent’s house was foreclosed and my grandpa has spoiled her rotten. {Don’t worry, me and my mom, Mary, are totally trying to fix it} Otherwise, she is just like her regular self. Gentle, shy, and just a beautiful loving dog that has touched our hearts forever. We feel blessed to have Millie as our dog and we thank you for your willingness to let us have Millie as our dog.
Thank you, Meghan T, 11-year-old daughter of Mary H.
