Molly #09-098
(Fostered in Muscatine, IA)

Miss Molly arrived at her foster home on Sunday, March 8th. It was a very long ride for her from North Dakota to Southeastern Iowa and involved many wonderful transport volunteers. She was very glad to get out of the car and back to the freedom of a fenced yard and playmates!

Now, that Molly has had a chance to rest up and get her bearings again, we can see what a high energy dog she is. My husband calls her the "Energizer Bunny"! She loves tummy rubs and she loves to run and play. We haven't really heard her bark yet, but according to the Surrendering Owner, Molly's barking was causing issues with the neighbors. She is a very sweet and loving girl.

I don't know a lot about her personality yet, but she likes to be close to people. She is quite the lap dog. She does counter surf, so we cannot leave any food out on the counters. She sleeps in her kennel in the kitchen at night for now and settles down right away when we go to bed.

I will send another update in a few days when we know her a little better.

Molly's Foster Mom

UPDATES:
03/18/2009: Molly loves being in the house with us and all of her foster brothers and sisters. Her biggest issue is still that she gets so excited to see us that she is jumping up on us. We are working on modifying that behavior. We feel that she would do well in a home that has another dog as a companion for her while her family is away at work and school. I think that she is too hyper to be around small children at this time. I am hopeful that we can help her overcome the jumping up and replace it with a sit-stay. If we are able to do that, she may be all right with smaller children.

Molly doesn't seem to have separation anxiety when we leave, but she does have a houseful of dogs and two cats to keep her company, We haven't heard her bark yet, but she does whine a little when she first gets in her kennel to go to bed. She still counter surfs if we don't pay close attention, but she hasn't chewed on anything inappropriate. She loves her Kong! She also loves to play chase and keep away outside with the other furkids. Most of all, Molly is a very happy girl!

04/12/2009:

Hello! My name is Molly and I thought that I would send this in for my Foster Mom this week. She has been very busy doing something called "Spring Cleaning". I don't know what that is, but it means that me and my foster brothers and sisters get to spend more time outside playing. That is fine with me because I love to play outside with Jersey and Annie! They are both about my age and love to play chase and keep away! Those are my favorite games to play with my doggie buddies!

My Foster Mom says that I am getting better about not jumping up on people and instead I sit pretty and wait for them to pet me. I love pets, but tummy rubs are the best!! I am including a couple of pictures that show me relaxing on the floor and watching TV with my Foster Mom & Dad. I like to watch TV. I especially like to watch commercials with animals in them! I love to hang out in the living room with the other doggies in the evenings. We all just lay around and nap or watch some TV before bedtime.

I really wish that someone would call and ask for me to be their very own. I want my own forever family so much. I am a really good girl and I love people and other doggies and kitties. Please call your placement advisor and tell them that you would like to meet me soon! I can hardly wait!

Puppy love and kisses,

Molly

04/26/2009:

Hey, it's me, Molly again. I tiptoed in to do my own update. My foster mom is busy folding laundry in the living room. I really love my foster family, but I wish that I had my own forever family. If you would like a sweet loving girl who would just love to lay on the floor next to you while you watch tv at night, I would be perfect for you. I also like to hang out in the kitchen while supper is being prepared or lay at your feet while you surf the web. My foster mom says that I'm not the same wild girl that came to live with them nearly two months ago. She says that I have learned my manners. Whatever that means. All I know is that I am a good girl and I want so much to have my own family. Please let your placement advisor know that you would like to meet me. I will be waiting...

Molly is a very happy girl! Yesterday, Molly was adopted by the C family. She now has her forever family complete with two little boys to play with. What could be better? We will miss you Molly, but we are very happy for you! We wish you lots of tummy rubs and many happy years with your forever family.

From Molly's forever family...

Just wanted to send you a quick note. Molly is settling into our family well. We are so happy to have her here. She is the sweetest dog ever! Last night it took her a while to relax, which is of course understandable. We put her in her kennel, when we went to bed, and she wimpered for a little bit, but then fell asleep and was quiet all night. She found her voice this morning when she saw, from our deck, kids and dogs playing in a neighboring yard. It was so cute. She has checked out almost every square inch of our house and yard, and I think is having lots of fun. We took her on a walk when we got home yesterday, and she was a puller! This morning we put on the gentle leader and went on a really long walk and she was a FABULOUS walker. She loves the kids, and follows them wherever they go, and she checks on them all the time too. Here are some photos we took. Although she's pretty in the pictures, as you know, she's much more beautiful in person. Thanks to RAGOM for this wonderful girl!

Such a sweetie!

Molly continues to be a fabulous addition to our family. We adopted her almost a year ago already! After we adopted her, she did have some anxiety issues to overcome, but she’s made great progress over the year. We are very thankful that her previous owners surrendered her to RAGOM so she can live the “golden life” with our family. I think she’s decided to keep us. J

Here are some photos of our beautiful Molly with her boys. Thanks RAGOM. Enjoy!
