I've been Adopted!

Annie 09-192
(Fostered in Milford, IA)

Hi everyone- meet Annie! She is a 6yr old, spayed, PB Golden Retriever. She weighs 58 pounds and is red in color.

Annie was surrendered because of skin allergies. We aren't sure what she is allergic to but after a bath and lots of brushing she is doing much better. We will be giving her fish oil capsules to see if that helps her dry skin.

When I was reading Annie's papers from the surrendering owners she sounded too good to be true, but so far everything they said has been true. Annie has great manners! She knows basic commands, sit, stay, come, down and shake. She loves to be where we are but is careful to not be in the way. Annie loves attention but will patiently wait her turn to be pet. She does not countersurf or get into the garbage. We have not seen Annie get on the furniture (which is surprising because our two dogs lay on the furniture alot). Annie has free roam at our house - she sleeps quietly in our room at night on the floor. She rides nicely in the car. In her previous home Annie was trained for invisible fencing. Annie is very friendly- loves kids and our dogs.

If you are interested in meeting a great dog please contact your placement advisor.

Annie is a wonderful foster. So easy going but playful. She loves squeeky toys! Our kids enjoy taking her for daily walks- she walks really good on leash. However, I'm sure she misses being able to run around the yard.
A few people have asked if she is good with cats. As far as we know Annie has not been around cats so we don't know how she will react. She doesn't seem to have a high prey drive with birds or squirrels so hopefully she would be ok with them. We don't really know anyone with cats so we could test her.
Annie was trained to invisible fencing in her previous home so we really hope to find her a home with a fence or a family willing to put in an invisible fence.

Annie met a wonderful family and went to her new home today!
