RAGOM would not survive without the generosity and boundless energy of our volunteers. We always need volunteers who are willing to donate a few hours of their time to help with the various areas of our program. If you have a passion for Golden Retrievers, some extra time, and a heart full of love to share with these very special dogs, we want to hear from you. Even if you can't take a dog into your home we have many other opportunities for you. The rewards far outweigh the time and effort it takes to rehome these wonderful souls.

Positions Available

• Home Visits
  Volunteers are needed to meet with prospective adopters and complete a questionaire and home inspection. Prospects can be located in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota or South Dakota.
• Transport
  Transport volunteers are needed to transport dogs. Transport runs can be local, intrastate, or interstate between Minnesota and/or Iowa, and/or North Dakota.
• Foster Care
  Volunteers are needed to provide foster care for homeless dogs. RAGOM will cover all basic veterinary care at predefined veterinary clinics. Foster volunteers decide which dogs they bring into their homes.
  Tasks associated with providing foster care include:

  Veterinary care including wellness check and any prescribed follow up procedures.
  Evaluating prospective adopter's applications and home visit notes
  Submitting weekly updates for the web site
  Meeting with prospective adopters until placement

• Foster Support
  Foster Support volunteers are people who are home during the day and can help with occaisonal vet visits, doggy daycare, etc. They would help support a foster home with various needs such as taking the dog to the vet so the foster wouldn't have to take time off from work, helps out with puppy socialization and other various tasks.
• Events & Activities
  We are looking for people that would like to work with us on our Events team to help organize RAGOM Awareness/Visibility events. These are frequently held at local pet stores. Other events include the annual picnic and golf fund raising events.
• Fundraising
  Volunteers assist in many aspects of major annual fundraisers (such as the annual 5K Run/Walk) and also ongoing events as well. Volunteers contact companies for donations and sponsorships, organize events, and work behind the scenes to ensure that everything runs smoothly. We are working to establish new large fundraisers for RAGOM and are looking for people who are willing to help make it happen.
• Grant Writing
  We can always use volunteers to help identify potential corporate and private grantmakers, write grants, and help solicit major donors.
