Hazel came to RAGOM from a commercial breeder. As with all dogs coming from large-scale breeders, she can adapt to a variety of home environments where patience, training and love are paramount.  Children should be old enough to understand that she is very shy and unsure of all the changes she has experienced and a mentor dog as a companion is not required, but she would do will with a friend.  She has not been tested with cats. A plan to keep her safe in the yard (e.g., tie-outs or a physical fence) is critical. Breeder moms need extra care for the first year, but the long term rewards are worth it!
