Welcome Bear to the RAGOM family. Bear has been with us for about 10 days now. He is UTD, neutered, on HW, Frontline and is HW negative and a PB Golden. Bear is a big boy weighing in at 100lbs.

I've learned that Bear loves to swim. On hot days he likes to go do his business and head to the pond for a quick swim before coming back in. He knows sit, lay down, shake and is learning no and bad. He does do some counter surfing and is very food driven, which we've been working on.

He just turned 16 months on the 29th of July so he is still puppy and learning. He gets along with other dogs and loves to play with my resident all the time. Like I say he's still a puppy and has a lot of energy. He goes all day. He has been getting better at that as I think part of it was just nerves. He was sold by his original owners and then surrendered a week and half later due to his size and food drive. He just needs a good stable home that has some patience and is willing to work with him and/or take him to obedience class. He has had some obedience training but should have more in my opinion. He has free roam of the house but with close eyes watching. He sleeps in my room on the floor most the time. He will jump into bed now and then and sleep there all night. He does sleep through the night and is house trained. He is also crate trained. When I leave that is where he stays. You do have to give him a little push but, once he starts in then he finishs himself and does fine being in there.

He gets along fine with cats. I have 2 and he does well with them. He does jump up on occasion but it seems to be with females and kids when they have food. He has gotten better but we are still working on it. He loves to play. I think he'd rather play then be petted. Sometimes he is a little rough but he just don't know any better. I don't think he had enough time anywhere to learn real good manners. He does have some, he just needs the time and support of good and loving FUREVER HOME. I'll admit there have been some stressful days but, I haven't given up and he has calmed down some and made a lot of baby steps towards being the perfect family GOLDEN. He will sleep at your feet when he's ready for a nap. Which is not too often but he has been taking more and more.

Now, what he needs in his new home is a lot of love, positive support and patience and time. A home with lots of energy to keep up with Bear and help tire him out. He will need lots of exercise and play time. Bear will need a family with children 12 years or older due to his size and his food drive. I'm working on the food drive, but I imagine he will need continuing work with that. A family willing to take him to obedience school and work with him on his manners. Maybe a family with a resident dog that still has the drive to play. Bear is really a sweet dog that just needs a family to love him and help teach him right from wrong. I'm think he might actually be good at hunting.
Here are some pics - more coming!
