11/20/06: Betty Jean or Bettee was the fifth of the Boo Bears to be born. Bettee?s parents were from a puppy mill and so she is a purebred Golden Retriever. Bettee came into this world at 11:59 pm on October 24th, 2006 and will be ready for adoption on December 18th, 2006. Bettee will be four weeks on 11/22/06.

Bettee came into this world weighing 1.2 ounces, biggest of the girls. At two weeks of age she weighed 2.44 pounds and I believe she will weigh close to 3.75 pounds when we go to the vet later this week. Bettee has had her deworming and will do another dose this week. In two weeks she will get her first set of puppy shots!

Betty Jean was named after a wonderful RAGOM volunteer?s mother who passed away this fall. This volunteer comes to snuggle with Bettee on a regular basis just to make sure she is getting all the love she deserves and a little extra because she is so special! Bettee will go out of her way to find something to chew on. It can be a toy or a foot--she does not care, just as long as she can have something to keep her busy while she is awake.
