Buddy is a 4 year old Golden Retriever mix who was surrendered to RAGOM due to changes in family circumstances.
He is a sweet, exuberant, and happy boy, and gets along with all people and dogs. He is completely housebroken, obeys/knows many commands, and does not have any bad habits that we've seen yet! He loves to walk, though getting him to walk in a straight line is still a work in progress. He will not need a physical fence, as he has excellent recall and has the "stay" command down solid.
He is neutered, microchipped, and UTD on all of his vaccines and preventatives. He is overweight and did have anemia when he first came into our care, which has since resolved. He has since been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and will be on Levothyroxine for the rest of his life. As his levels have stabilized, his anemia resolved, and his weight has started to drop. He still has a very poor coat, as well as the typical "rat's tail" associated with hypothyroidism, but the vet has assured us that that will resolve with time.Buddy does have a bit of insecurity, and is very dependent on our resident dog, so it is felt he will need another dog in his forever home. His forever home will also have to be fine with a dog that loves to be on the furniture and sleep in the bed, as he won't have it any other way!
