Welcome to RAGOM, Buster! Buster came to RAGOM because although his parents loved him very much, they could no longer care for him. Buster is a Golden mix, although the vet thinks he’s more of a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. No matter what breed he is, he is beautiful and has the cutest personality.

Buster continues to be a wonderful house guest. We had a great breakthrough this weekend—Buster walked into the kitchen and hung out with us.

As of right now he doesn’t do stairs, but with a little help and assurance he should master stairs in no time! Buster will need a home with patience and understanding.

He enjoys his daily walks and is trying hard to walk like a gentleman. He does not door dash and waits patiently to be let out.

I noticed that when I try to brush him, he will “mouth” me—not bite, but put his open mouth on my hand to say “stop.” He only does this when he does not like something you are doing to him. He will need to be around dog-savvy children.

If you are looking for a snuggler, this is the guy for you!

Buster did great at his vet visit. He was very cautious of other larger dogs but enjoyed meeting the smaller puppies. He is up to date on all his shots, neutered, and he tested negative for heartworm and parasites. He is a bit overweight at 55 pounds. His ideal weight would be under 50 pounds.

Buster is a sweetheart! He loves all people, especially children. All he wants is to give love and receive love. He has been a perfect house guest. He only barks when a car pulls into our driveway or when I use the vacuum. He does not beg for people food or jump on people.

He is house trained. He has not had an accident since he has been with us. He does not let us know when he has to go outside, so we take him out every few hours. He pulls when walking on the leash, so we are working on proper walking skills with him. He will also go out on a tether.

He is crate trained. He knows the command “kennel” and will go in without a fuss when we are not going to be home. At night he sleeps either in his kennel or on the bed with us (the “no dogs on the bed” rule lasted one night with this sweetie).

The ideal home for Buster would be one where his living area is on the main floor (he doesn't do stairs, at least not yet). The main living area should have carpet or rugs, as Buster does not like tile floors.
