It is my pleasure to welcome our newest foster, Charlemagne! Here is what we know of Charlemagne: He was picked up as a stray by animal control with Magellan 14-184 in Waterloo, IA, about 3 weeks ago. He was not wearing a collar and was not chipped. His time was up due to a full shelter and his life became AMAZING because he is now a RAGOM dog!!! So, being he was a stray, no one knew his name. He does NOT answer to Charlemagne, so we call him "Charlie." (He will be known as Charlie from now on!) Unfortunitely, he does NOT answer to Charlie, either!!! His recall is poor, obviously (wish he could tell us his old name!), so we are working on that.
Charlie is a male Golden mix, estimated to be about 8 years old. He has the cutest freckles on his nose and white "socks." He's a big, strong boy weighing 70 pounds. He walks like a charm on the Gentle Leader. He LOVES his walks! He has been with us for about 4 days now. He is a TRUE Velcro dog!! He follows me from room to room and just LOVES his humans. He thinks he's a lap dog and if you are sitting on the floor, he will plop right down on your lap.
This is one sweet boy. He is still settling in with us, but he would be a great addition to any family. I have a 10-year-old and a 12-year-old and he'd do well with children of any age. He also gets along with our resident Golden, Ginger. We met cats at the vet and while he was curious, I think he'd be fine with them also.
Please let your placement advisor know if you are interested in meeting Charlie!
