Chase has been with us for about a week and a half. He is about the sweetest little thing anyone could imagine!
A few things about Chase- he loves to play with our other foster dog. The two of them can play all day long and love each other's company. In his forever home, I would recommend another dog to keep him company and to help run off his energy.
Chase sleeps in a crate and will go right in when I toss a treat in for him. The first night he cried a little, but now he goes right in without hesitation. He wakes up when the sun comes up, so he would make a great alarm clock!
He runs very well on a leash, he doesn't pull at all. He doesn't particularly care for the Gentle Leader, but after struggling for a bit he gets used to it. Because he is a little dog (40lbs) he is very easy to handle.
We haven't formally introduced Chase to our cats, although that is more due to our cats being nervous than it is about Chase. He has seen them through the doggy gate, and has sniffed and barked, but he has never growled or snarled. I think if we properly introduced them he would be fine. He is very curious though.
He tends to jump up a bit when he gets excited. We're working on correcting this. He does very well sitting for treats and laying down to let us know he wants to come in from the backyard, but a little manners training wouldn't hurt. He nips a bit too, but that is usually when I try to get in between him and our other foster.
All in all he is a great dog!
