Hello, let's welcome Chewbacca, Chewy for short, to the RAGOM family.

This big beautiful boy came to RAGOM on Sunday 4/15/12. Thanks Pat for your help getting Chewy to his foster home.

Chewy is a 16 month old PB Golden thats UTD and Heartworm negative and had a micro-chip already in place. This boy is full of energy and when he talks to you he sounds just like Chewbacca from Star Wars. Chewy was only surrendered because SO didn't have the time Chewy deserves. I was told it was a very emotional surrender. I can understand why, in the short time I have had this big guy I've found he just wants to love and be loved.

Chewy loves to play with my resident RAGOM Charolette 08-166. He met cats for the first time on Sunday and did just fine. He was more curious then anything and has not chased them or anything of the like. He loves to meet new people and loves kids. He pushes his whole body into yours waiting for your love.

Chewy knows sit, shake and stay, we are working on shaking the other paw and speak and some everyday manners. In all Chewy is well behaved just neeeds some fine tuning.

Like I said Chewy is a big boy weighing in at 92 lbs. The vet said it's his ideal weight altough he may get a bit bigger. For the most part he respects baby gates but, as I was writing this, he did jump one.

Chewy would make a great addtion to any family but, I think it would be best if children were 10 or older and that's just because of the boy's size. He will need a furever family with time for lots of walks and exercise with him and the patience to fine tune his manners. Maybe, a yard with fence would be best but, it's not required. His SO said he has a sensitive stomach and has been feeding him Royal Canin for Goldens and I will continue doing so. So did say if someone was to try something different to do it slowly. He gets diarrhia.

His SO said he barks at the door, but haven't seen that, he does go to the door and most times whines, also sometimes he just comes to you and whines and talks to you.
