Greetings,
I've had the pleasure of fostering Cider, let me tell you a bit about her. Cider was found by a good samaritan around a pond in West Fargo, ND. The GS took Cider to the West Fargo Vet Clinic just in case her owners would come looking for her, they did not and the GS was going to take Cider as his own but found out she has lyme disease and she has a mass on her tummy. He didn't want the expense so declined taking her in. Cider was sent to the Fargo/Morehead Humane Society and her time was up. I picked her up and she is a total dear...
Cider is the name RAGOM has given this sweet little girl but she didn't know that was her name so we started calling her by all sorts of names to see if we could raise a spark in her. She seemed to respond by wagging her tail to L names but one time we tried calling her Lovey and not only did her tail wag but her ears perked up too.. .So, we have been calling her Lovey.
She is estimated to be 7 years old, she is potty trained, rides like a dream in the car, walks very nice on a leash, had a bath and didn't once try to jump out of the tub, she gets along with the other goldens in the house, has no resource guarding. She minds very well, doesn't jump on people or furniture or counter surf. She likes to sleep, get itchies and swim. She also loves 15 yr. old boy of the house... she is constantly licking him and sitting by him and likes to sleep by him too. She takes treats very gently and is a total dream girl.
Over the long weekend she met six other family friends and they all commented on what great manners she had. She did not like the fireworks so she and one of the other goldens had a tough time on Sunday night.. we would think the neighbors were done shooting off their fireworks and all of a sudden another one would boom... my son would cover her ears and I would rub her an that seemed to help alot. Cider also met two other dogs this weekend, one was a black lab named Nellie and the other is a white and black dog named Spanky.. she could have cared the less about meeting them...
Cider loves to play with balls and is figuring out the pattern of our household. Treats at least 3 times a day and lots of love and attention.
Last week Cider went to see Doc. She has a runny nose and is taking some meds for an infection, meds for the lymes and had xrays on her tummy. Doc doesn't seem to think the mass is harmful and thinks this little girl is a charmer.
