I would like to introduce Miss Cody! She is approximately 8-years-old and a beautiful lighter colored golden. She arrived at our house on Saturday and we’re still getting to know her, but I wanted to share her with everyone checking the web-site. She is such a happy girl and is a typical golden with LOVING attention and needing to put her paw on you. She met our resident dog with no issues and is reported to get along with cats and kids. We have not tested either of those yet.

Cody likes to carry toys around and will collect them where she’s laying. She’s claimed a spot by the dining room table where there are about 10 toys circling where she lays. We haven’t had any destructive behavior with toys yet or any issues with her getting into things she shouldn’t in the house. She respects baby gates and stays in the kitchen with our resident while we’re at work, but I think Cody would be fine with free roam. She has been accident free in the house! She’s really a perfect house guest overall.

Her vet visit went well. There were no major health concerns. Her teeth are a little worn/dirty, but she doesn’t have any arthritis or signs of aging (besides some white on her face). She really seems to act younger than her age if she is 8. The only things we need to do now is have her fixed before going to her forever family and that is scheduled for this week still.

Cody was a breeding dog when she was younger and was debarked. She pants, but unfortunately cannot cry or bark. She is looking for a loving family who will be able to give her lots of attention. I don’t think she would have any aggression towards children, but due to her size (65 pounds) I would prefer her not go to a home with children under 6 because she could knock them over when she wants attention. She can be an only dog as she doesn’t have a lot of interest in our resident and a fence would be preferred. Please let your placement advisor know if you would like to meet this happy girl!
