Welcome, Goldie! Goldie is a healthy, 84-pound pure Golden who is spayed and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. She entered foster care on June 9, 2014.

Goldie loves people of all ages and is very calm around children. She knows basic commands like come, sit, shake, no, and down. Goldie is crate trained and house trained. She does well in her crate during the workday. Goldie does not jump up on the furniture on her own, but will happily do so when invited. Right now, she sleeps on her dog bed in the bedroom at night. She’s also used to sleeping in her crate at night.

Goldie enjoys bath time and loves being groomed. Her favorite things are to play with a tennis ball and go swimming. She will eagerly fetch a stick in the water and acts like a hippo, submerging her whole body in the water. She also enjoys car rides and will lay quietly in the backseat. Goldie doesn’t mind thunderstorms, but is afraid of the vacuum cleaner. It’s best to keep her away or in her crate while vacuuming.

Goldie is a perfect example of age only being a number. You’d never guess she’s 10 years old with the way she gets excited to go on walks or runs! She prances along and sets a healthy pace. Her recall is quite good and she comes readily when called. While inside, she is quite content to sleep at your feet or on her bed. When Goldie is really excited or happy, she will spin in circles.

Goldie prefers to be the only pet in her home. She has displayed aggression towards other dogs in the past, particularly around food. While in foster care, she has been a true sweetheart and has behaved well when she came across other dogs on her walks. Strangers are always commenting on how beautiful Goldie is. She doesn’t know this, but her curls are the envy of everyone!
