Graham (now known as Walter) is a medium-energy, fun-loving, 10 month old Golden Retriever that came to RAGOM because his owners learned they had an allergy and could not keep him. He loves people, and enjoys and seeks out love, cuddles, pets and attention from all individuals! He can be a little cautious initially, greeting you with a bark, but almost immediately lets his guard down and asks for pets! The perfect home for Graham would be a home where he is the only and main character because he can be selective with other dogs. He can guard his humans from those other dogs which is why a home where he is the only dog would be the best fit. A home with another dog would take verynslow introductions to insure a good fit. Graham absolutely loves the cat and will settle in and cuddle with the cat anytime she is willing to let him.
Graham has great recall and walks well on leash. A fenced yard would not be required as long as there is a plan in place to walk and exercise him as he has lots of puppy energy.
He is incredibly smart and quick to learn. He knows sit, stay, shake, wait, place, high five, follow and with me. He loves to play fetch with big balls and small balls. Tug of war with a rope toy is his absolute favorite game! He will require continued work to encourage sharing of his toys and people with other dogs. He also is becoming very comfortable in his crate when we cannot be with him.
This boy is an absolutely beautiful 10 month old Golden and will shower you with love and affection if you give him a chance!
