Grier is a young girl who is ready to enjoy life. She is a mix-breed dog with Golden Retriever-like hair who spent her first years on a chain outside and is amazingly sweet yet understandably timid right now. She is in good health and has very good manners.
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

I'm very pleased to introduce Grier, a lovely young golden-like girl who is ready to start enjoying life. We estimate that she's between 1 and 2 years old and even if she's not a golden retriever, she has some of the characteristics that make goldens so wonderful. She is sweet and gentle and slowly opening up to her new life. Grier spent her first years chained outside and it's hard to know just how much time she spent with her people. She is learning that life as a RAGOM foster dog is very good and she watches our other dogs to learn just how things should be done. The first few nights here she slept in her kennel in a quiet room by herself but now we've moved her kennel to the living room and she's happy there, joining in the play on the floor when she wants and napping in her kennel whenever she feels the need for quiet time. We no longer close the kennel door, she can come and go as she wants. Still, imagine our surprise this morning when we found her in our bedroom with the rest of the dogs. We may have to get a dog bed for her and make space for one more in the bedroom!

Grier has impeccable house manners, has not had an accident, has not shown any interest in counter surfing or even getting on the furniture. She has started to enjoy a chew toy and watching her play with that makes you just smile. A big thrill for her is running in the backyard, big playful circles with our youngest dog, showing off her fancy footwork and strategic left and right turns.

Grier is current on all her shots, has been spayed and is in good health. An ideal home for Grier would have another dog so she can continue to learn about the world and build her confidence. She would not be a good candidate for a tie-out situation. She is very obedient on a leash but she needs time to be off-leash to flourish. A family with dog experience, patience and the willingness help her learn about the good-life will be rewarded with a very loyal companion. She was slow to trust us initially but within the short time she's been with us she's blossomed and this morning enjoyed being hand-fed waffles -- we are guessing that was a first for her! She is quiet and a bit timid but slowly developing trust that life is good.
