Hello All
We have a new guy on the block. His name is "Hayden" He was named after Hayden park, I think there was some romance going on with his previous owners. He is six years old and a ball of fun. We are all getting along fine, my wife Mary, two resident dogs, and me. If you know me, I have the Border collie that tests all my new foster dogs. They actually call her an old grouch, she gave him the teeth look. He wanted to play but decided it was better to leave her alone. It was funny to watch him give her the "I just wanted to play look" - it's a cocked head and ears up.
He came from a family with three children under six, and the baby had allergies toward dogs. He has been around only two days so we all are in the learning stage. Some of the things we have figured out about him are: he is a big happy guy, as you all know my wife is a runner-walker, so he has been out three times already and loves it, and walks without pulling. He sleeps in his crate at night, and appears very healthy and was from a loving home. He is going to the vet Friday, I think there will be bad news, I'm not telling him, but there is probably a diet in his future. Lets just say he is "large framed".
The groomer yesterday said his fur was in great condition, and he just stood on table and was well behaved. In the bath no problems, so he might be a good water dog. We will find out when the weather gets a little warmer, not for him but me.
More later, after vet and swim in lake.
