Profile

Hi everyone! I'm Jayden, though my foster mom and dad call me Jade since I'm a girl. I am in a foster home with my brother Cameron 09-021. I came from an accidental litter and I'm slowly adapting to living in house. I was living in a shed with pigs before I came to RAGOM. When I got to my foster home the first night, I really reeked of pig poop. My foster mom gave me a bath and shampooed me twice and even put conditioner in my hair. After the bath, I still stank a little but was a lot better. Mom said she'll give me another bath in a few days. When mom was giving me a bath, I laid in the bathtub in the corner and shook. For the rest of the night, I laid in corner and shook because I was so scared.

The first two days in my foster home I didn't eat anything since I didn't know what they were trying to feed me. Now my foster mom mixes cottage cheese and canned food in the dry food and I will eat a little, though I'm still a little unsure about it. I am still really nervous in this thing called a house. I lay in the corner a lot. I have mastered stairs (once). I watched the permanent dog in the house run up and down the stairs like 100 times and my foster mom bribed me with cheese to learn to go up and down.

I really love my foster mom and will come to her and give her lots of kisses on her face, though I don't like to leave my corner that much. I'm a little apprehensive of my foster dad. I think I'm a lot more fond of women then men. I will let him pet me if he crawls over to me but if he's standing, I get really nervous. I will only come up to him if my foster mom is next to him calling me.

I absolutely LOVE being outside. Foster mom says I have to go to a family with a tall fenced yard. My foster mom has a 2 foot fence around her garden but I ignore the fence and jump into the garden to play. She says that she's thankful that she has 6ft tall fences around the yard. The garden is a ton of fun to play in since the snow isn't trampled down. I love tearing around the yard chasing my brother and the other dog in the house. I don't like coming inside though. It takes a lot of work for foster mom and dad to get me inside. The first two days in the foster home, both foster mom and dad would have to chase me around the yard to try to get me. On the third day, I watched my brother and the res dog run inside and outside, inside and outside, and finally I will follow them in. Foster mom says that she hopes that I learn to come inside more quickly because she doesn't like being late for work and isn't keen about getting up 20 minutes earlier in the morning while I sit outside thinking about coming inside. She says it takes me a long time to make up my mind to come inside.

I absolutely hate a leash. Foster mom said that's fine for now and she'll give me a little more time adjust to the house and the newness of everything before she starts working with me with learning to like a leash.

There are three cats in my foster home. One of the cats is incredibly social and loves to rub up against me and purr. I like to sniff at her and then I just leave her alone. I'm fine when she rubs up against me and think it's cute.

I get really scared over loud noises and lots of excitement. Foster mom says it's best for me to not go to a home with young kids. Teenagers and older are OK. Also, foster mom says the family that adopts me MUST have another dog. Right now I'm learning everything that I'm supposed to be doing from my brother and the res dog. I would be really lost without someone helping me along. The only other new thing about me is mom told me I'm going in to get spayed this Thursday. I'm not too sure about that but my foster mom told me that my brother will be with me all day when I'm awake so I will be fine.
