Profile
Lacy is an almost 3 year old female (birthday is the end of July). She was rescued on 07/03/2010 with a group of 8 other dogs who resided in a junkyard in a substandard breeding operation.
The most common comment about Lacy is she is a beautiful girl, dark copper coat, short hair. She is also dainty at 53lbs. She has been vet checked and is overall healthy, except an ear infection which we are treating with ear drops. She is not available as of now, as she may be pregnant, we will keep you updated on this event.
As of now she is very anxious for she was an outdoor dog and appears not to have been exposed to the indoors of a home or had much human contact. She is very shy but cooperative, I am sure she will show us her true colors soon. Every day is a new experience. I lifted her into the car, but then the rest of the ride went smooth. I had to carry her through doorways the first few days and she would not even attempt the stairs. Now she can go up the stairs. She is hand fed with wet food - she will not eat from a bowl or when she's alone. She gets along with my resident dog and tolerates my cat, loves my 10-year old girl and my neighbor's dog. She has always urinated and pooped outside when I take her out with a leash. She stays close to my legs and is scared of noises of cars, lawnmowers etc, but she's improving a bit everyday. This is going to be a rewarding adventure with Lacy as she slowly learns the golden life she was meant to have.
