Lexy arrived in the Twin Cities with 23 other dogs from Knoxville, IA. She was the only Golden in the group but all of the dogs found homes due to coordination of many volunteers coordinating transports across multiple states, and we are so grateful to have this sweet girl! She is a 15 month old GR mix, and looks like a black Golden – all the beautiful GR feathering, but with shiny black hair. Lexy is full grown but at 50 lbs, so she is on the small side. She had a busy weekend between a long transport, the vet and the groomers. It’s difficult to photograph black dogs and capture their beauty – she is gorgeous!
She is in perfect health, spayed, current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She is also crate trained, potty trained and wonderful with both kids and dogs. She immediately bonded with my young son, and now loves everyone. We are just getting to know her, but so far she has been a playful, affectionate, and a well behaved little sweetheart. Lexy was surrendered to the shelter with her brother because they were “escape artists”. We have a fenced yard, but she hasn’t been alone yet – I’ll keep an eye on her to see if she plans to venture off.
Just a quick update for now until I learn more about her. Check her out with her foster brother 11-005 MacGyver….they dig each other.
