Profile

So, I have Maggie girl here today!   Man, she is a love, and is SO HAPPY to be out of jail. I left her on leash the first while out in the back yard and introduced all the troops. Everything went very good.  She is a well-behaved doggie.  She sniffed, met the neighbor dogs who bark a lot, and she was fine.  Happy girl to be free and jogging around.  She did not take off, wanted to make sure I was there, but happy to be outside.  She met and was fine with all my ground crew.

She has been inside and met a couple cats... and she is fine with that. Interested, but no chasing or any aggressions.  She is happy to SHARE water and food--no guarding at all.  Maggie is sure hungry and very thin.  She has had a couple very small meals.  I made her some rice.  She still has loose stool .and has pottied good each time we have been out.  Her first one was long and more yellow.  We are going more often and normal now...not near as yellow now. I assume she had to wait forever to go.  I did start her on Metrondazole for the diarrhea... most rescue dogs need it.  I think now after a few hours, it is beginning to help.

I have set up a BIG crate for her with lots of blankets.  Maggie seems OK in the crate--she has obviously been used to kennels--and was quiet.  It seemed to me she 'rustled about' and I let her out (after maybe 15 minutes to 1/2 hour) to go outside, and she did potty again!  Now she has been checking the immediate area out, and is laying by my while I type.  She is SO POOPED out!  She is going to make a great girl for some lucky family.  She has a wonderful temperament… real nice.  She 'ran some laps' outside when I played with her and comes right back to you.  She was fine when I cleaned her ears.  Loved being brushed.  (She still needs a bath, sorry...)

Tim and I are fostering Katie/Recato and for some reason she responds to the name "Katie,” or at least to us.  Our young granddaughter (3) was here running in the yard and in the house, and Maggie was PERFECT. Does not jump up - just hungry for the lovin'!!!

This is a great girl. I can't imagine what her past was or anyone LOSING this little girl, but she is a gem... I cannot really answer the 'housetrained' part, but she has not had accident, and goes out when asked just fine.  Does not run off.  Very very nice baby girl!  She will need to get her weight back slowly and needs a bath.  She rode in the truck like she owned it!  Right in the middle!  All this added to my prior updates on her, ONE PERFECT small female Golden for sure. Wow, what a dolly… Maggie is being transported to her temp foster in MN tomorrow morning early. Oh  yeah, did I say she is CUTE???
