Marley is a gorgeous, purebred, 4-year-old golden retriever. He was owned by a loving family who couldn't afford to get him back from Sioux City (IA) animal control. The animal control officer said that Marley didn't run away, but kept going to the bus stop to wait for the kids to come home from school!
Marley is absolutely fantastic with kids. His former family had a handicapped child and Marley was his best buddy. He's also been terrific with our five-year-old daughter. He loves to fetch and would happily play outside with her all day long.

He also gets along great with our fur kids. We have four other golden retrievers and Marley pings back and forth between them...trying to get them to play. Marley is a very social boy and would love to have another dog to play with. He even tries to get our cats to play, but they are less than enthusiastic. We are teaching Marley to leave them alone and he's catching on quickly.

Marley is highly intelligent and a very quick learner. He never wore a Gentle Leader before, but it didn't take him long to figure out that the Gentle Leader means that it's time to go for a walk. And boy does Marley love to walk! He's a very high energy dog who would make a super running buddy.

And last but certainly not least, Marley is completely housetrained. While we all know that there is no such thing as a perfect dog, Marley sure comes close!

Marley will go to the vet on 11/3 to be brought up-to-date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. Once he's recovered, he will be ready for his new forever home.
