6/20/08: I would like to introduce you to Ms. Molly. Actually she doesn't know her name is Molly, Molly is a senior stray so her real name is unknown and I picked Molly since it's a common senior girl name.
Molly is a gorgeous red head with white in her face. First thing I did was give her a bath and she was very easy to bathe and groom. We went to the vet and she weighed in at 89lbs so she is over weight and needs to lose at least 10 lbs. I'm guessing her age at about 8-9 years old. She is heartworm negative, has been brought up to date on all of her shots. Waiting for the rest of the lab tests to come back so I will update once I know more about that. We had her nails clipped at the vet because they were so long, I don't think I've ever seen nails that long before. After a couple baths and lots of brushing we were able to bring her beautiful coat back to life.
Molly is great with humans and dogs but should probably not go to a home with cats. She will chase my cats and I'm not sure what she would do if she caught one. So far we have been lucky that she hasn't caught one.
Molly is house trained and knows basic commands. I haven't asked her to do too much yet. Right now we are just working on the name. Molly loves to roll in the grass, she does a senior bounce when she greets, she doesn't jump up on you she basically just wiggles out of her skin. My son says she has a very happy tail/wiggle. So far she hasn't gone up on furniture. She has a lot of spunk she can jump in and out of my SUV with no problem. This gal has a lot of personality and spunk left in her.
