This little girl came from a breeding facility. Her RAGOM name is Buffy but we call her Nervous Nellie, because she was very fearful when she first arrived, especially of people. She would run from us but now she approaches us for pets and treats. She loves playing with other dogs and especially loves toys. She guards them diligently! She is healthy.

Nellie (formerly Buffy) got the best Christmas present ever: a new family that is willing to be patient as she adapts to her new people and new surroundings. She has a human sister who is eager to cuddle with her and a 4-year-old canine brother that she is already sharing toys with.

Merry Christmas to Nellie and the entire family!

Oh my, this little girl is really starting to shine! Her sister (Sabrina 18-201) was adopted a week ago and since then Buffy (we call her Nellie) has really changed. This isn't surprising considering her background, but we're very pleased that the change happened so quickly. She now comes when she's called and frequently comes up to us for pets all on her own.

We've walked her on the nearby golf course several times wearing a collar and a halter. She was very hesitant the first time but quickly decided that walks were fun! She's met other dogs and people on our walks and has gone up to them without any encouragement. The fear is gone and she has become happy and confident.

As a review, she eats well and sleeps all night. She loves to play with all of our resident dogs and no longer guards her toys. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.

She still doesn't know how to let us know that she has to go out to do her business. But she is let out often and we've been letting her roam through the house with the other dogs.

She has definitely become a member of the pack and is a dear, sweet, happy girl. She will be a wonderful addition to a lucky family.

We call this little girl Nervous Nellie—but I’m happy to report that she is not nervous anymore! She comes to us willingly for pets and treats. We also call her Wiggle Butt, because when she wags her tail, her whole back end wiggles!

She’s still a little skittish but overall has settled into the household routine and is a happy girl. She loves, loves, loves playing with all of our dogs and will do so for hours. I wouldn’t say that she is housebroken—we just let her out often. And the leash is still very scary for her so she hasn’t been on any walks.

She has recovered completely from her spay surgery and recheck of stool samples have been negative. She is eating well and her weight is up to 36 pounds, but she will always be a petite little girl.

Buffy (we call her Nervous Nellie) came in with Sabrina (18-201) and Freddy (18-199). They are supposedly siblings (born on May 8, 2018), but we think Freddy is not a sibling. The two girls are almost identical in appearance. We had to put on two different colored collars in order to tell them apart.

Personality wise, the girls are very different. Buffy (Nervous Nellie) was very shy and timid when she first came and continues to be so. She is learning about being touched by humans and just tolerates it at this point. She keeps away from us as much as possible. She will take treats from our hands.

She loves all kinds of toys and is extremely protective of whichever one she has. She is eating well and sleeps all night. She is let outside often so we haven’t had any accidents in the house for quite some time. But she doesn’t know how to signal that she needs to go outside.

Buffy (Nellie) only weighs 33 pounds at 5 months of age. She is fed 3 times a day to increase her weight. She is up to date on all vaccinations and she is heartworm negative. No organisms in her stool. She will be spayed and microchipped on November 5, and will be available for adoption after her spay surgery.

She is from a large breeding facility and has behaviors related to spending all of her life in a cage and having very little human contact. She bucked like a wild mustang when we attempted to put a leash on her.

We will start putting a leash on and letting her run around the yard to get used to it as we’ve done with the other two. She loves playing with the other two puppies and our resident dogs.

Whoever adopts this sweet girl will need to be very patient as she learns how to adapt to being a companion dog that lives in a house. Plus she has lots of puppy energy!
