Profile

Today was a very exciting and exhausting day for me! I started out in Southern Iowa and drove all the way to Mound, Minnesota! I love car rides but this one was a little long! I was a little scared but I am a pretty tough guy! I met my foster mommy in Iowa and drove with her to her home. We drove under overpasses….I tried to catch those! And oncoming cars are just too hard to catch! I guess I need more practice!My new mom called me a “goofball”. I have never heard that word…can anyone tell me what that means?? I am not sure if that is a good thing or not…hmmm….

When we got home, I ran around in the deep snow…dragging my mom behind me. I can’t understand why she can’t keep up! I checked out the whole yard…looks like a wonderful new home for me. Then I got to meet the resident cats. They were all puffed up and looked so pretty! I tried to give them a kiss but they hissed at me.
What is all the fuss about? I just want to play with them! And they have such yummy food!! It smells SO good And I got to show off my good manners today too! Mom was eating some chicken and she told me to “sit” and I immediately sat! I was so proud! And then she gave me a treat…I was so excited I took a big bite! Oops! She is helping me to be more gentle when she gives me treats…I think I understand. But at least I sit when I am told to!

I am getting tired now…but I really want to keep exploring! Oh yeah…forgot to tell you…the neighbor girl came over to meet me. She is SO sweet!! I gave her a big kiss! She rubs my tummy and my ears…I just LOVE children! (yawn)…I think it just might be time for bed…been such a long day…and am very excited to see what happens tomorrow!!

Mom here: He IS a goofball!! Nugget is a beautiful red golden with a little white on his chest. He is a big boy with huge feet. He is very good natured and he loves children and cats. He will sit on command but he does need to learn some manners. The cats are adjusting quickly. Nugget is a very friendly dog who will be a wonderful family pet! He is still young and has a lot of energy….still very much a puppy who is housetrained. He has shown no aggressions and is very healthy. He is a very happy well adjusted dog!
