Profile

Oliver is a very sweet, loving dog. He came into RAGOM because someone in the home did not like him. It is best that he go to a home where there is another dog to play with. He is fine with free roam in his foster home, as there are others dogs for him to play with. If he was an only dog he might get bored and look for something to get into. He is a real love bug.

Oliver moved to a new foster home on January 27, through no fault of his own. One of the dogs at his previous foster home is now sick, and they are taking care of his needs. They hated to move Oliver as they truly enjoyed this sweet boy.

Oliver adjusted to the move extremely well. He is a very sweet, happy boy who is always wagging his tail. He loves attention from anyone and everyone! He loves to cuddle on the couch, and he would definitely sleep with you if he is allowed.

We only have room for one Golden in our bed (our own dog), but Oliver is fine sleeping in our laundry room with a baby gate to keep him in there. We need the gate because it's basically attached to our bedroom and he'd keep jumping in our bed if it wasn't there.

Both dogs would sleep here if they could (Oliver on the right).

Oliver has been great with our dog, Buddy. He loves to play chase with him running around the yard. They also wrestle, but Buddy is usually the one who initiates.

They get along very well, and I feel like Oliver enjoys having another dog with him. He does much better when we leave if he is with Buddy versus if he is all alone at home. I am thinking it would best that he go to a home with another dog because of this.

Our 7-year-old daughter really likes Oliver also. He has been very good with her and her friends when they come to visit. Her friends enjoy having him here, too. He is gentle with our daughter and gives her kisses. He loves to give kisses!

He has been super easy to take for walks, he tolerates wiping his paws with a towel after being outside, and he even let me clip one of his nails. He just really likes to lick and licked my hand a lot when I was clipping his nail, so that made it a lot harder than usual.

Oliver loves to chew on antlers, Nylabones, Kongs, etc. He hasn't chewed on anything inappropriate except the wood baby gate, but I think that was related to him being left alone by himself.

I agree with everything the previous foster said about Oliver and feel he will be a wonderful dog for someone. He has so many great qualities! If you feel Oliver would be a good fit for your home, please inquire about him. He's been patiently waiting for his furever home.

Oliver is a happy dog.

Well, hello RAGOM land. Let me introduce myself. My name is Oliver and I am a 4½-year-old sweet, happy, energetic, and handsome (at least that's what they say and who am I to argue?) male Golden Retriever. I came from a home where someone did not like me and Foster Mom and Foster Dad cannot figure out why.

But that is their loss and it will be your gain. I am a real love bug; love, love, love attention; and I am very friendly. I mind really well. I come when I am called. I will sit for you and when I sit, if you ask me to "wait" I will do so. I will take a treat ever so gentle.

This is one of my "sit and wait" poses.

I really pay attention when you ask me to "wait." Maybe there is a treat in your hand.

I went to see the good doctor and got a clean bill of health. I weigh 72 pounds. The good doctor said that the ideal weight for me is 65 – 70 pounds. I've been playing a lot here with the resident puppers and playing fetch. Foster Mom has cut down on the amount of food I get because I was getting too much, so I may be down a couple of pounds.

I love to play and I will play fetch and chase 24/7 if someone will play with me that long. I am not always good at bringing back to you what we are playing with. I also love my walks and I walk really nice on a leash. Once in while if I get really excited I may pull a little bit, but you can very easily redirect me.

I love to ride in the car. In fact, I will try and get into the front seat with you. I understand that I do like the water. But since it is winter and the pond here is frozen, I have not been in it.

My favorite toy that I came with does not look real good, but I just love it. If you take it and put it out of my sight and then tell me "find it," I will go look for it, get it, and bring it back. I will probably not give it to you but I will find it.

If my favorite toy is not in the house (I like to take it out in the yard and I don't always bring it back in) and you tell me "find it," I will look for another toy that is around and bring it to you but only for you to look at. He he.

When I am fed all Foster Mom has to do is hold my dish in the air and I will sit. When she puts my dish down I will sit and stare at her for as long as it takes for her to tell me "good boy, you can eat."

I do not resource guard. I eat in the same area as the resident puppers and I am fine. If I get done before any of the others, I do not bother them at all. I get along with other dogs, I get along with cats, and I really like children.

I do have free roam of the house if Foster Mom and Foster Dad are both gone. As long as I have another dog there to play with, I am fine. I am just afraid that if I was the only dog and was left alone without another dog to play with me that I would get bored, get into trouble, and get into something that I should not.

Here I am with my favorite toy and one of the resident puppers.

Foster mom was very surprised that when she got the camera out that I did not get up to see what she was doing like I do when she sees a good opportunity for a cute picture of me.

I will sleep either on the couch, on one of the dogs beds in the bed room, or in bed with you. I'm a snuggle bunny.

I promise that I will bring you all the joy and love that you can ever imagine. Tonight when I wish upon a star I'm going to be thinking of you... and hoping that you'll be my furever family. If I look like I would be a good fit for your family, please inquire about me and I will not disappoint you.
