** WAITING LIST **

Greetings from Grand Forks, ND

Well, Ollie aka Oliver  is one year old.  He came to stay with us yesterday, he had a very long drive from Hastings, MN to Grand Forks, ND.  The one thing I can tell you is Ollie rides very well but thinks he should ride shotgun.

Ollie was a little stressed after that long ride and his new surroundings so he did drink a ton of water last night and did do some pacing but he did manage to sleep or should I say we managed to sleep.  Ollie shared my pillow with me and if you were wondering yes, he still has a bit of puppy breath.

Here are the things we already know about Ollie:

  • He rides nice in the car
  • He loves to play frisbee
  • He only eats out of his personal dishes (however, this evening he got mixed up and tried to eat out of Winnie's dish - she is one of our resident golden's)
  • He is a Registered Pure Bred Golden Retriever
  • He has attended Neuman K-9 Academy and passed and has a certificate to prove it
  • He knows hand signals (which FM and FD are still trying to figure out)
  • He is potty trained
  • He is good with other dogs, kids and people
    - He has a funny bark
  • He loves to play
  • He walks great on a leash
  • He is already neutered
  • He is microchipped

Well here is what we have been up to, last night I thought we wouldn't get any sleep but Ollie plopped down and snuggled his head on my pillow and slept.  If he heard a noise outside he would bark but that only happened once at 4:30am.  We got up at 6:30 and went for a 3 mile walk, Ollie walks very nice on a leash no pulling at all.  He did get a bit skittish when loud cars or motorcycles went by but hey, I don't like those loud things either.   We then arrived home and had breakfast and bragged to the other pups about going for a W.A.L.K. which they didn't get to go on.  Then Ollie played with Jac (the other resident golden) for a while then we were outside all day long, playing frisbee, ball and just running around checking the yard out.  Ollie was very good about coming in when I called his name.

As far as I can tell he was a very loved and cared for golden.  His family had to surrender him because they had some health issues that need taken care of  and it would be too hard to do with a small puppy.  Ollie has been raised on a farm and loves to hunt rabbits and birds and yard animals.
