9/5/06: It is with great pleasure that I introduce Miss Rosie, a beautiful petite farm dog turned city girl. A Good Samaritan rescued Rosie and surrendered her to RAGOM so she could find a good home. It didn't take long for this sweet country gal to adjust to life with our family. Rosie is housebroken, has a hearty appetite, gets along wonderfully with our two dogs, and just can't get enough cuddling! She's 100% Velcro and a polite little houseguest. She can stay here as long as she wants while we look for her perfect forever home!
Speaking of perfect, Miss Rosie is perfect in everyway. She knows basic commands like sit, come, and down and is already learning to heel with a Gentle Leader. Miss Rosie lets us take food and toys from her and does not guard things from our dogs. She rarely barks and does not attempt to jump over our 4' fence. She is very patient while being groomed and even lets me trim her nails and clean her ears without complaints! She wasn't too crazy about getting a bath, but stood still for 15 minutes while we washed her. Her coat looks beautiful now and is a pretty dark golden color. Not bad for a country girl who was used to sleeping in the dirt! In my opinion, Miss Rosie is loving life as an indoor dog and the comforts of a fluffy dog bed! In fact, she sleeps so well that my dogs have to wake her up in the morning!
Rosie met the vet today and was given an A+ on her exam! Her heart and lungs sound good and she is physically fit. She is now up to date on her shots. The doctor determined her age to be six years and is a perfect 51 lbs. We told Rosie that she will be retiring from motherhood and getting spayed next week. No more responsibilities as a mom for this pretty lady! Now she can enjoy the next phase of her life as a RAGOM dog with a family who will give her all the love and attention she deserves.
