10/3/05: Sam arrived here Sunday afternoon, after a long trip in the car. Sam is one sweet and gentle dog. He is part Golden Retreiver and Yellow Lab. I say he is a Golden Lab. He has the coloring of a Golden and the body of a Lab. And he definitely got the best parts of both breeds. Sam has spent the last few months with another breed rescue and they decided that maybe he would have a better chance of finding his forever family if he was with RAGOM. Sam is settling in well. He likes others dogs, both male and female, and he pretty much ignores the cats.

He is a little skittish right now - I think that he must have been abused in his past life. But he is trying to be very brave. Sam will duck his head way down when I hook up his leash. Today my husband was carrying some strips of wood in the house and when Sam saw him - he ducked out of the room really fast, but he did come back and actually sat and watched.

Sam is all up-to-date with all vetting and is micro chipped. So he is basically ready to go to his forever family after he has been with me a week. Sam can't wait to meet you.
