Hello RAGOM fans!  You are in for a treat because you are about to meet Savanah, a BEEEE-U-TEEEE-FUL 65 pound pure-bred Golden Retriever being fostered in Grand Forks, ND.  Savanah was surrendered to RAGOM because the family she was living with moved from a farm setting to town, and Savanah just wasn’t happy with the change.  Savanah’s age is somewhat questionable…her previous vet lists her age at about 7 years, but her surrendering owner was under the impression that she was closer to 10 years.  Regardless, Savanah is a very playful Goldie girl that we have nicknamed Chet.  Why you ask?  Well, when Savanah is excited and her name is called, she barrels towards you like Chet, the “reindeer in training” from the Santa Clause 2 movie…front and back legs going every-which-way, head bobbing, moving at 90 mph to get to her people (especially foster mom).  It is absolutely hilarious (and adorable) to watch!  She also S*M*I*L*E*S and grunts when she’s happy…definitely one talented Golden!!!

Here’s what we know about Savanah so far (as much as you can learn in a week anyways):

~housetrained…not even one accident!
~does not like to be crated
~enjoys riding in the car
~spent most of her life as a breeding dog
~good with kids 10 and older
~learning to walk on a leash without pulling (usually quits pulling after about a block)
~afraid of loud noises or sudden movements (cowers, heads to a safe corner)
~no storm anxieties or guarding issues (does growl when the resident Golden comes over for attention but stops  when told “no”)
~LOVES swimming in the lake
~does not play with toys or tennis balls…YET!
~enjoys lots and lots of love and attention and gives back 10 times as much as she’s given
~eats well and LOVES treats
~seems to get along with other dogs after some “settling in” time     
~is well-mannered…doesn’t jump on furniture/beds unless she’s invited…no counter-surfing

Savanah has stolen our hearts in the short time she’s been here, so if you’d like to give this sweet girl your heart, contact your placement advisor.
