Profile

Hello everyone!

My name is Shawny. I am a girl and I am from Iowa. I came to Minnesota with my sisters Copper (08-577) and Scout (08-578). They think I am 11 weeks old as I was sort of a stray. I was living in a shed with my sisters and my mom and dad. I was real scared when I got here. I did not know where I was going or what I was riding in. But the person who brought me was really nice and held me in her arms and cuddled. I love to cuddle. It makes me feel safe when I get to cuddle. So when I got here, I was checked over by a vet who gave me shots and a micro chip. I have to go back to the vet to get a booster shot and rabies shot in a couple of weeks. Then I will be all up to date.

I am living with my Foster Mom who has three other dogs. I got to sleep in the bed the first night with all the dogs. That was great. Now I sleep in my very own kennel with lots of toys and blankets. I am starting to really love my kennel. I can tell when it is time to go in. I have even been walking in there on my own....well maybe I get a little push from behind - but not much of one.

I am learning that when I have to go potty I have to go outside. I still have an accident once in awhile. I just get so excited when I am wrestling with my brother Max that sometimes I just gotta go. Max and Bella are my best buddies. Max wrestles and plays tug of war. Bella lets me cuddle with her and sometimes I take naps with her.

I love to follow my Foster Mom around. She acts so goofy when she sees me. She gets all excited and claps when I go potty outside. She tells me that I am a good girl!! She has been saying the same words over and over lately - come and sit. Whatever they mean. But I sometimes get treats with those words so I guess I better start to pay attention to what they mean. I like to wander around and I am not always ready to go inside when everyone else is. I like to go exploring. My Foster Mom says that if she did not have a fence I would have to be on the leash every time I go outside. I can't say I like the leash much. have been on the leash a lot lately.

I don't look much like my sisters. I have a lot of white. My feet are white and I have patches of white on my face and chest and on the very tip of my tail. Everyone who comes to see me says I am SOOOOO CUTE!

I am really energetic and love to play. But I still take naps. I love to go outside but my FM does not let me stay out very long 'cause she says it is too cold.

Even though I would love to stay and live with FM, Max and Sydney, I guess I have to find a new family to live with. I would like to go live with someone who will play with me and take me for walks.

And now a few words from my foster Mom:

Shawny is a sweet little girl. She may get to be a big girl as she has really long legs. She is pretty vocal when wrestling with Max. She really gets excited and pretty feisty. She is not afraid even though Max is 60 pounds bigger. Max is a softy when it comes to puppies so Shawny will have to be watched around other dogs until she learns her P's and Q's.

She has accidents in the house from time to time. This is probably more my fault than hers, as she has been keeping her bedding dry throughout the night and when she is kenneled during the day. When she goes outside she goes to the same spot virtually every time.

She is a happy puppy, full of mischief. She is really starting to develop quite a personality. She makes the cutest grunts and groans when you pick her up. Sometimes I pick her up just so I can cuddle and hear those noises. Keep watching for updates as I am sure Shawny will have more stories to tell as she explores her new world outside of the shed where she was born.
