Sunshine (AKA Honey) came to RAGOM just over a week ago. She is a senior gal, about 10yrs or so, who needs lots of love and a gentle hand. She came to RAGOM as a stray from the Southern Metro area. Honey is a mix breed of choc lab/some Beagle(ears)/and possible golden; and she weighs in at 50lbs.
The first few days were rough as she was in a strange home, we do not know her correct name. She comes with some medical issues which are being dealt with as I write this update. She does have some arthritis and was put on Rimadyl, that has helped her move alot easier. Honey even now wants to play ball and will pick up bones to chew on. Honey also has a large fatty tumor on her right lower abdomen to back leg area that needs to be removed. RAGOM is working on appointments for her to have that removed in the next few weeks.
We're not sure if Honey has any storm anxieties or dark anxieties. As we are always having storms with thunder and lighting, maybe this week I can finally figure this one out.
Honey has already learned not to beg at the dinner table and not to snap at fingers when hand fed food. She knows some commands like lay down. She doesn't like to sit because the tumor makes it hard for her.
Honey is a very loving dog, she puts her head in your lap or if someone is laying on the couch she will put her head on your shoulder and look at you with her big brown eyes.
Everyday we learn more about Honey. Please consider adopting her, she is a love.
