Introducing Wendy, a 21 lb 4mo old female golden mix, when asked people randomly with no suggestions most say Shepard. She was found as a stray and impounded, no one came to pick her up, so a different rescue had the heart to get her out of there. She became a Ragom dog on 08/06/11 and was taken care of by a temp foster with a family who fell in love with her in the short time she was visiting, when I picked her up the kids were sad to see her go.
Her vaccinations are now up to date, received her heartworm and flea preventive also microchipped. She is now being treated for demodex, which is common skin condition for young dogs and puppies, They get it from their moms when they nurse, Starts at the face and tends to move to neck and so on. Her face and under her neck is affected. She is on antibiotics, oral liquid med to treat the cause of her skin problem and special shampoo to help her skin heal and keep her comfortable and her face should fuzzy up in no time. By the way she loves the bath and to be massaged with shampoo. She loves her puppy food and is well behaved and easy to train, she is so smart, you only have to show her the command once and when reminded catches on fast. I know that with good training starting now while she is small in size and how quick she catches on, she will be a model dog, I have brought her to my massage appt (long story). She made herself a bed with the pillows under the table and was snoring away and she was nicely sociable with the other visitors, I predict a future Therapy dog. She caught their hearts right away.
She is 99% potty trained, she had 1 accident in the house, when I showed my disapproval she immediately put her tail between her legs and the next time she was scratching on the door, a nice clear indicator she had to go and then pooped and peed, she got lots of hugs and Kudos, she responds really well to affection. I feed my fosters from my hand for a couple days to create a bond and respect, when people see her with me, they states she sure knows who her master is, I state I've had her only a day, which shows her loyalty to humans. She plays with my senior dogs and is respectful when they say that's enough. I crate her while I am gone and she had no accidents in there, she cried for a few minutes but then settled in. She takes cues well from the household well and would be able to blend with any family.
