Please allow me to introduce Xochi (pronounced So’ She).We just recently sprung Xochi from boarding where she was temporarily staying until a foster home became available. We are so very lucky to have Xochi temporarily join our pack in her journey towards her forever home. Xochi is very responsive to direction, both from FM and FD as well as her new foster brother – Buddy. We are also fostering Bevo 12-266, he and Xochi have become very good friends and play very well together. First order of business when bringing Xochi home was to bathe her. We did this outside and she was very well behaved during the entire ordeal and especially loved the ‘massage’ while we were towel drying her.

Xochi is a purebred 3 ½ year old GR weighing in at 87lbs, she is a little overweight but with regular exercise should drop the 5-7 extra pounds she is carrying. She is very sweet and like all goldens loves to be petted for as long as you are willing to. When you are done and tell her that’s enough she gives one or two more little nudges and then backs away and looks for either another human to pet her or a toy to play with. Xochi does appear to be very content as a single dog and will spend most of her time during the day lying by the patio door gazing outside.

Prior to arriving in Ragom to begin her ‘golden life’ Xochi lived on a farm, so is used to spending her time outdoors on a leash or with free roam, could account for gazing out the patio door. She doesn’t whine or anything just lies there very contently. However, when it is time to go for a walk she is first in line to get her leash on. FD has been working with both fosters to sit and wait while he gets their leash on and gets the door open. Xochi is the first to sit quietly (even before her FB) and wait, so appears to know a few basic commands.

Xochi was surrendered to RAGOM as she was having difficulty getting along with other dog (11yrs old) in the household. Thus far we have not seen any issues with Xochi interacting with our resident golden (Buddy, 2yrs) or other foster (Bevo, 6yrs).

Xochi is spayed, UTD on her shots, micro-chipped and on tick and heartworm preventative. Xochi’s coat is a beautiful golden red color. See pic below to see just how beautiful this sweet girl is.

Stay tuned for updates as we get to know this beautiful young lady.If you think Xochi might be the forever companion you have been looking for, please contact your placement advisor today.
