RAGOM

Milo

Profile

Milo is a sweet, yet shy 14 month-old goldendoodle who came into RAGOM because his family could no longer keep him. Due to Milo's shy and fearful nature, he will not do well in a home with children under the age of 13. He does enjoy living with a dog, but prefers slow introductions. He is not cat tested. Milo does not require a physical fence and thoroughly enjoys going for walks. Milo is looking for a patient home where he can grow in confidence and live the golden life!

We had a visit to another RAGOM foster's home and he still needs to build his confidence outside the house. He did well keeping his distance while observing the new person that he was meeting. He also wanted to have space from their foster dog too. His personal space/comfort zone is a wide berth around himself while he gets to know people, but he is working to figure it all out!

Milo lives with me, my husband, my two adult sons and my father-in-law in our house. He warmed to me first since I spend the most time with him. Now he is comfortable with everyone. Here is a video of him playing with one of my sons.

Milo did great meeting some more family members (my brother and his 5 year-old daughter) while we watched the football game on Sunday. He did great! He needed a little space and didn't warm to the point to go up to them, but he did spend time with us in the same room we were all watching TV in cuddling up next to my husband even when we got loud cheering!

More fun things we have learned about Milo - he loves to chase leaves blowing outside and he enjoys the snow and snacking on it! He really enjoys going on our walks!

We have signed up for a Fearful Fido class. I think it will be good for him to work through some of these fears in controlled environments like this to give him more positive experiences in places that cause him anxiety. I really hope his forever family continues to work with him in training like this.

He is such a fun pup! He is a great companion, but will need help with his anxiety and patiently work through his fears to learn that he doesn't need to be scared of everything out in the world.

He enjoys fetch, small toys, and roll-y things like wool dryer balls! He loves going on car rides and going for walks!

Milo stuggles with anxiety and has started some meds to help him. He is fearful of strangers approaching him and needs extra reassurance and time when meeting new people. I think he would benefit greatly from a shy and fearful class and positive socialization with people that allow him to approach them and are ok with him choosing not to approach them. After he feels comfortable with people, he leans in for more love and he is a true sweetheart!

Milo's ideal family will be very patient with him and have no young children in his home due to his anxiety. Milo is waiting to say hi!

Milo still needs to be neutered before he can be adopted.
