RAGOM

Saving dogs. Supporting families. Strengthening communities.

RAGOM is a volunteer-powered nonprofit dedicated to giving Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes the lives they deserve. Through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, education, and community outreach, we help dogs find loving homes, support families in keeping their dogs, and inspire responsible dog ownership across Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Our Mission:  We provide Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes a second chance through education, advocacy, rescue, and community outreach.

Our Vision: A future where all Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes receive humane & compassionate care.

Our Values

  • Compassion:  We advocate for the dogs that have no voice and the people involved in our mission, every step of the way.
  • Collaboration: We all play different roles, but we achieve our mission together.
  • Commitment:  We demonstrate dedication, empathy, passion, and generosity in our actions and words.
  • Character:  We are transparent in all we do, operate with the dog’s best interest in mind, and are good stewards of our resources.
  • Community:  We show gratitude, provide recognition, and cultivate respect and trust.

What We Do

We believe rescue is about more than finding dogs new homes—it’s about giving every dog the opportunity to live a safe, healthy, and loved life while supporting the people and communities that make that possible.

Every dog’s journey is different. Some arrive needing emergency medical care. Others simply need time, training, or a safe place to heal.

RAGOM works every day to:

  • Rescue Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes in need.
  • Provide veterinary care, foster homes, and rehabilitation.
  • Match each dog with the right adoptive family.
  • Support adopters after adoption.
  • Educate the community about responsible dog ownership.
  • Help families access resources that may allow them to keep their dogs whenever possible.
  • Advocate for the humane treatment of all dogs.
