RAGOM

Zeus

Profile

Meet Zeus!  He's is an almost one year male who came into RAGOM under no fault of his own.  He's a big puppy with big puppy energy who needs a home with structure and exercise.  He's good with kids, but due his size and energy, kids should be 5 and over.  He's good with other dogs, but does not need another dog in his home. He has not been tested with cats, so could be ok with a dog saavy cat.  Zeus does not need a physical fence in his new home, but since he has a lot of energy to burn, he will need a plan to keep him safe.  This big boy needs love, structure and consistency to be his best self!

    Meet Zeus!

Zeus is a teenage golden retriever who came to RAGOM as an owner surrender. This sweet boy is still very much a puppy, with plenty of playful energy and so much potential to grow into a wonderful adult dog!

Zeus would thrive in a home that can provide regular exercise, structure, and consistency. He loves chasing balls and wrestling with the other dogs in his foster home. He walks well on leash, although his teenage brain can be distracted when a squirrel or rabbit makes an appearance! Zeus is very friendly when meeting new people and tends to be submissive with other dogs, so he could be happy living with another canine companion or as the only dog.

Zeus is doing well with his potty training. With supervision and a consistent schedule, he has had no accidents since arriving at his foster home. He is kenneled overnight and while his foster parents are away. Zeus happily goes into his kennel, though he may voice his opinion with a few minutes of whining or barking before settling down.

This handsome boy is very food motivated, which has been helpful for training—but Zeus also believes that anything remotely edible is fair game. He arrived nearly 15 pounds overweight and has been working on a healthier diet. He has been known to help himself to garden tomatoes and has even sampled the occasional turd. Promptly cleaning up after him will help discourage this less-than-desirable habit while he works on making healthier choices.

Zeus is looking for a calm, consistent leader who can help him channel his puppy energy and continue building his confidence and good manners. In the right home, we think this sensitive, affectionate boy has all the potential to become an incredible companion.

Zeus is ready to start living his golden life, could that life be with you?
