RAGOM

Health & wellness

Good food, fresh water, exercise, grooming and regular vet care (including vaccinations and heartworm, flea and tick prevention) are the foundations of a healthy dog. Even so, any dog can fall ill or need urgent care, so keep your vet's details handy and know your nearest emergency pet clinic.

Good nutrition, fresh water, exercise, grooming, and regular vet care (including vaccinations as well as heartworm, flea, and tick prevention) are essential to your dog’s health. But even the hardiest dog can become ill or need urgent medical attention. In addition to having your veterinarian’s contact information handy, become familiar with emergency pet care options closest to your home.

Did you know?

Heartworm disease is potentially fatal but completely preventable by administering monthly heartworm preventive medication.  RAGOM strongly advocates heartworm testing and prevention—in fact, our adoption agreement requires that adopters will keep their dogs on a heartworm prevention protocol.

Talk to your vet about heartworm disease to learn more about symptoms, treatment, and prevention. For general information, please review our article titled Protect Your Dog Against Heartworm Disease.
