RAGOM

Bubba

Profile

Bubba is a one year old male Goldendoodle who came into RAGOM from his owner who wanted a better life for him. Bubba would do best in a quiet home with older kids as he learns the world around him is a safe place.  He can be with or without other dogs and kids should be 13 or older.  He has not been tested with cats.  Bubba does require a physical fence to keep him safe.

Bubba has found a wonderful family who is fully committed to meeting him where he is, honoring his pace, and helping him continue to grow into the confident, happy dog he’s becoming. He now has a devoted mom and dad, and as the only fur child, he’ll enjoy all the love, attention, and snuggles his heart could ever want.

His new mom is especially excited to have a walking buddy, and we’ve already received an update that Bubba is settling in beautifully. He’s getting plenty of pets, reassurance, and affection — exactly what he deserves.

Here’s to Bubba’s happily‑ever‑after, complete with long walks, soft beds, and unlimited love. This boy earned every bit of it!

Happy New Year everyone! Bubba here with a report on the holidays and my progress.  On Christmas day I got to go on a long car ride with my foster family to Northeast Iowa. I was a little cramped in the back seat you see, as  I took my third out of the middle while the foster sisters sat up the entire ride.

We stayed in something called Air B & B that was out in the country. Not a soul around but there were some deer that would venture up close to the house.  My foster sister and I gave them a good chase early one morning. Foster dad had a moment of panic, but we came back no problem when he called. I kind of like being out in the country or at least having a big area to do zoomies. I get the zoomies bad sometimes!

I got to see foster grandma and uncles and aunts again, along with the dog that gets to be a farm dog all year long. We had a great visit, the ride home was a little interesting, with blizzard conditions, snow squalls and words from the front seat that I will not repeat.

When we are at home we do daily walks. Due to the cold, snow and Ice, they have been mostly once a day. I love to go on walks and have been doing pretty good when we meet unfamiliar people along our way. I still get excited at times and jump around a bit. I mostly just mind my business and keep walking.

As previously mentioned, I do like to go out and do big zoomies in the yard and play with the resident doodle.  I like to play fetch with the ball, and I do a great job in bringing it back! When I am done playing, I may snuggle up with you on the sofa or just go tuck myself in. I am a sweet boy who loves attention.  My foster parents are starting to understand my cues when I need attention. I love to be petted, chin and ear scritches-all that!

I will be a good loyal dog to a family who is willing to commit to my ongoing training. Since I am still shy and unsure about strangers, a quiet home with no or older kids would be best. I love other dogs and playing, so another dog in the home would be good too!

Bubba is a young, affectionate pup who’s been making incredible strides in his journey to feel safe and secure around new people. While the event was a bit overwhelming for him — too many sights, sounds, and unfamiliar faces all at once — it was a valuable learning experience. Bubba had a single bite incident during the event, which we believe was the result of sensory overload. Since then, he’s continued to grow and thrive in a more structured, calm environment.

Over the past three months, Bubba and his foster family have been working closely with professional trainers to help him build confidence and reduce fear-based behaviors. He’s made fantastic progress with jumping and nipping, and he’s learning to channel his youthful energy in positive ways. On recent outings to a local park, Bubba walked calmly past other people at trail distance — curious, watchful, and wonderfully composed.

He’s also done well during boarding stays, both with his foster sisters and solo, showing adaptability and resilience. Bubba is incredibly sweet with those he trusts — he adores pets, snuggles on the sofa, and quiet companionship.

Bubba will flourish in a home that understands the importance of slow introductions and ongoing support. He’s looking for a forever family who will continue his training journey and celebrate every milestone along the way. With patience, love, and consistency, Bubba will be a loyal and loving companion.

    Hubba Hubba, it’s Bubba!

Hey there, future family—I’ve got an update for you straight from my paws! I’ve been living in my foster home for almost a month now, and wow, time sure flies when you’re learning the ropes and soaking up the love.

It’s a peaceful place, and I’ve got three amazing foster sisters who are showing me how things work around here. They’re pros at this whole “being a good dog” thing, and I’m catching on fast.

     Weekday Routine:
Each morning kicks off with a walk through the park. I’m getting used to seeing other folks out and about—it’s kind of nice! When we get home, we get a treat just for being good walkers. Then it’s breakfast time, and after that, Foster Mom says it’s time to “go to work.” I wasn’t sure what that meant at first, but apparently it involves choosing a cozy nap spot. My sisters have their favorites, and I’m still testing mine out. I’ve got free roam of the house during the day, and we go outside for breaks and lunch. I love playing with my doodle sister or the boxer next door—especially when I get to do my big zoomies. A fenced yard is my happy place!

     Evenings & Weekends:
After dinner, we head back out for another walk and some yard play. Weekends are a little busier, there’s more to supervise and less time to nap since Foster Mom and Dad are always on the move. I’ve even earned the privilege of free roam when they run errands. I take my job as house guardian very seriously (unless I’m napping, of course).

     Coming Soon:
This week I’m heading to the groomer, so keep an eye out for fresh photos. You’ll get a better look at my soulful eyes, the ones that are searching for my forever home.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging, I might just be your guy.

Meet Bubba: A Bright and Bouncy Pup Ready to Shine

Bubba may have only been with us a short time, but he’s made a big impression. This handsome black goldendoodle is a lively, intelligent young dog who thrives on activity and connection. He loves romping in the yard, going on brisk walks, and engaging with the world around him.

Eager to learn and bursting with potential, Bubba responds well to training and enjoys guidance. He’s at a stage in life where structure and consistency will help him flourish—he’s ready to be someone’s star student!

Bubba would do best in a home with:

A confident, calm adopter who can set gentle boundaries and offer encouragement.

Dog-savvy children, ideally older, who can respect his need for gradual introductions and help him feel secure.

Patience and positivity during walks, as Bubba is working on greeting unfamiliar people and dogs calmly. With a gentle leader and continued practice, he’s learning that the world is a safe and exciting place.
He’s respectful with other dogs, tuning into their cues and adjusting his play style accordingly. Bubba enjoys companionship but also knows when to give others their space.

At home, Bubba shares his surroundings peacefully, shows no signs of resource guarding, and is crate-trained—sleeping soundly through the night and content when kenneled while you're out.

This sweet boy is ready for a family that sees his spark and wants to help him shine even brighter. With a little support, Bubba will grow into an amazing lifelong companion.
