Max
Profile
Meet Max! This handsome red 4 1/2 year old Golden is looking for a forever home with room to play fetch and get lots of love. He would do best in a home with older children 10+ and likely no cats due to a higher prey drive. With some additional training he will make a wonderful addition to his forever home!

Meet sweetheart Max, a healthy, playful 4 ½ year old boy who recently joined the
RAGOM family. Max is a wiggly, wagging charmer of a family dog who loves to play, go

he’s drop-dead gorgeous to boot.
Max was surrendered because his family felt he played too rough with little kids. He can
be a little mouthy, which might be scary for little ones; he’s very licky; and he’s an
exuberant boy who sometimes jumps up to greet people with a full-body hug. He takes
redirection beautifully, though, and very much wants to please – with just a little bit of
work, he’ll make a wonderful family member in a home with kids 10+.

and be a part of whatever his humans are doing. Max likely wouldn’t be good with cats
as he’s got a high prey drive. He will keep your yard free of squirrels and rabbits! Max
doesn’t require a fence as long as there is a safety plan for him, as when chasing a
squirrel, he doesn’t stop to think about where he’s going – it’s very much a mission for
him.
Max is not a perfect leash walker; he pulls, especially when he spots a squirrel, but he’s
responsive and wants to do the right thing. We’re walking him on an easy walk harness,
which helps. Some consistency in training will go a long way with him.
Max is not crate-trained but does sleep quietly through the night. He currently sleeps on
a dog bed in our room, although if you let him, he’ll be delighted to sleep in bed with
you. Max firmly believes he belongs on the couch and on the human beds – if a dog on
the furniture is a deal-breaker, Max is not the dog for you.
Max can sometimes be a bit barky but not aggressively, just enthusiastically. He’s full of
joy and likes to share his thoughts with the world.
Max is an absolute delight and ready to meet his forever family!
