Abby is happy to be a part of the RAGOM family and is excited for you to start following her story, meeting her at Meet-and-Greets and maybe inviting her into YOUR home (isn't she adorable??)!
Abby came to RAGOM from a rescue in SD after having a litter of pups. The rescue asked RAGOM to help find her a wonderful, new forever home and RAGOM was happy to oblige (we have the best adopters ever!). Abby is a petite 45ish-lb Golden Retriever mix and has the most adorable ears! Her coat is dense, soft, and so pretty. And she has a beautiful tail that she carries like a plume when she is excited and happy.
Abby is a little shy and skittish, but with each passing day, she is more confident and comfortable with her surroundings. When I sit on the floor, she is happy to come to me and will accept petting and massages - oh, and yummy treats, which she takes ever so politely. When she is let out of the crate, she is super playful and does the play-bow (she is super cute when she does this!). Abby also walks really well on a leash and loves to be outside.
I will write more as I learn more about Abby in the coming days and weeks. Abby will need a family that can be patient with her and help her build confidence - which she does pretty quickly as she gets used to her new surroundings. Abby will also be spayed soon, and then she will be ready for adoption! Please let your advisor know if you are interested in meeting Abby!

Lovely Abby was adopted and has begun a most wonderful part of her Golden Life. Her adopted family is now a little larger and full of lots of love. I cannot think of a more perfect ending to one chapter of Abby's life. Now another, even better chapter is beginning for Abby in her new home. Abby has had lots of new experiences since her last update. As she continues to gain confidence and have more interactions with new people and places, more becomes known about her habits and preferences. The physical fence is no longer a necessity. Abby cannot be left outside alone, even with a 6-foot fence. She will seek out that slightly raised corner of the yard and scale the fence quickly and easily. The physical fence is no longer a necessity. Abby cannot be left outside alone, even with a 6-foot fence. She will seek out that slightly raised corner of the yard and scale the fence quickly and easily. So, when Abby is outside, she needs to be either on a leash or maybe a tie-out. She needs to be supervised and not left alone. Abby is ideal for somebody looking for a house dog. Because Abby only weighs 43 lbs, she is a great choice for apartment living. She can handle both elevators and underground parking garages. She is quiet and rarely barks. Abby is also fully house-trained. She will go to the door when she needs to go out.
Abby is cat friendly. Her first reaction is avoidance. Once she has become more accustomed to a cat in her environment, she will act like a dog. If a can runs, she goes after it, but will not touch it. Abby can live with a cat.
Abby has had her spay surgery. This is recent, so too soon to see how it is affecting her personality. She is gaining confidence and is more comfortable around strangers. She is such a sweet, happy, funny dog when around people she trusts. She jumps in to the car and rides nicely. Abby is a special little foxy-looking gal.
