RAGOM

Amber

Profile

Amber came into RAGOM's care from a commercial breeder auction. Aside from needing to gain a little weight, Amber is a healthy dog. She is skittish and shy, so any children in the home should be age 13 or older. Amber requires another confident dog in the home to model and learn from. She must have a physical fence to keep her safe in the yard. Amber will need a calm environment and time to adjust to living in a home with a family who understands her background and cautious nature.

    Hello everyone in RAGOM-land!

I just want to thank everyone at RAGOM that rescued me from a life of constant breeding and into a real Golden life! To those that donate money to RAGOM, the selfless souls that drove to the dog auction to bid on me, all the kind people that received me at RAGOM headquarters and gave me my very first bath, and all the very smart people in Placement, Adoption, and Foster Support -- you all played a role in me BEING ADOPTED TODAY!!! I'm so doggone excited!

I've learned so much in the eight weeks in RAGOM care and I've turned into the brave and silly girl I knew I always wanted to be. Special thanks to my foster dad who was quite patient with my growth and of course my very sweet foster home sisters, Raygan and Gia. You were so great in letting me steal your beds and bones without a fuss.

Finally to my PERFECT new family in North Dakota - I couldn't have dreamed of a more kind and loving home to land in, with three new brothers and sister and a new furry best friend to teach me new things!

    I'm one lucky girl!

    Hugs and licks,

    Amber

  2. Hello everyone! My RAGOM name is Amber and I come to you as a 3 and a half year old Golden from a commercial breeding facility. I’ve been with my foster family for three weeks. Hello everyone! My RAGOM name is Amber and I come to you as a 3 and a half year old Golden from a commercial breeding facility. I’ve been with my foster family for three weeks. While my first life involved whelping many litters of puppies, I am now spayed and ready to enjoy a golden life. I’m a red-tinted girl with beautiful eyes and budding desire to learn to play and fit into a household that can reciprocate the love I have to offer. I would be best served in a family with a confident resident dog for me to learn from, and a fenced yard to keep me safe. While I’m friendly to all animals and people, a home with children above the age of 13 would fit my uncertain nature. I’m not aggressive or a resource guarder, but sudden movements or noises have me retreating to a safe place.

My foster family has taught me the joys of receiving pets, chewing on bones and going for walks – which I absolutely love to do. I’ve learned how to navigate stairs, doorways and how to take treats gently from people who offer them to me. My vet says I need to put on a few pounds, but I’m a healthy girl who is housebroken and can be trusted when left alone to roam about the house.

It's going to take some time for me to continue to learn about people who want to love on me, but I’m approaching them more and more as I find how fun it is to have my head, ears and belly rubbed! I’m ready to be adopted and offer lots of tail wags and a desire to be part of a family who understands my background and cautious nature. My best days are ahead of me and I can’t wait to share them with you!!
