Welcome Charlie, the love-bug, to the RAGOM life. Charlie is a 5 year old, neutered male GoldenDoodle, weighing 47 pounds. He is microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and has no health issues per the vet visit yesterday. Charlie is housebroken and has free roam of the house.  Charlie and my resident dog Willow get along fine. Willow is not a playful dog and Charlie respects that. I think he would like a youngish dog around to play with, but he would be fine as an only dog also. He mainly wants someone to snuggle with and be available for pets. He is a true snuggle-bug, along with being a love-bug.   Charlie spent most of his 5 years with one family who had small children. They chose to surrender Charlie due to health reasons in the family. He was well socialized by the family and is not destructive when left alone.

This is Charlie before his haircut,  he had a haircut before he came into RAGOM

He has done fine with any other dogs we have met, both male and female. I don't think Charlie has done much leash walking. I do not have a fence, so we walk a lot. At first he pulled quite a bit on a flat collar, but since we switched to the Gentle Leader he has done much better. He isn't fond of it, but tolerates it well. Charlie does seem to have a bit of a prey drive and the Gentle Leader also helps keep him controlled when he sees something he thinks he might like to investigate.

Charlie was a bit nervous the first day he was with me. He wasn't very interested in eating, but by the next day he was making himself right at home and has eaten just fine since then. He is a slower eater than resident dog Willow. Any dog is. So when she is done eating she has to come watch Charlie to make sure there aren't any morsels left for her. She just stands near him and he doesn't seem to mind a bit. No growling or guarding. He takes treats nicely. Very good manners.   Charlie sleeps on his dog bed or on my bed. He likes to snuggle and curls up at night and is fast asleep for the duration. He will go 8 hours easily at night before he needs to go out. During the day, he goes out 3-4 times. He lets you know when he needs to go out by barking and going to the door. He barks sometimes for no reason, but a few pets and he settles right down. If you think Charlie would be that special dog to come into your home, contact your placement advisor.
