Chico
Profile
George (fka Chico) is a Golden Retriever mix puppy that came to RAGOM because his family was no longer able to care for him. His mom is a Golden Retriever even though he didn't get her coloring! He can live with other dogs and a physical fence is optional for him. He hasn't been tested with cats. Children in George's family should be 13 or older due to his sharp teeth and mouthy play. George is looking for an active family that is ready to engage him mentally and physically.

I am headed home! I have new paw-rents who I am going to love up on, and I know they are going to love me too!! Okay, I might miss my pack, but I will make new friends and besides, now I don’t have to compete for attention - I have two humans all to myself! I know I have lots to learn yet, but I understand my family is studying to help me become the best dog I can be. They also mentioned scent work so that I can use my olfactory senses and show them what a great tracker I am! I am looking... Read more → Read less ↑

I am looking forward to an exciting new life and Foster Dad says I can come back and visit anytime I want and play with the pack again.

Hello friends, I would like to introduce myself again. Foster Dad says I am a handsome, somewhat opinionated snuggle bug! During our walks, he lets me explore, but he worries he might have created a monster because I love to sniff and investigate everything. He says I am a great tracker; once, I picked up the scent of a couple of our friends on their walk path during an extended walk. I do get a bit nervous when there is too much noise, like too many dogs barking at us, however Foster... Read more → Read less ↑

During our walks, he lets me explore, but he worries he might have created a monster because I love to sniff and investigate everything. He says I am a great tracker; once, I picked up the scent of a couple of our friends on their walk path during an extended walk.
I do get a bit nervous when there is too much noise, like too many dogs barking at us, however Foster Dad keeps me walking and praises me, which helps me stay calm. When I first arrived, I would get aggressive if he tried to take the stuffing out of the toy I had just disassembled. But now I know there are plenty of toys for me, so if he takes something away, I just grab something else.
Foster Dad believes I would be a great fit for a family with older children. I do love to cuddle, so I am very used to having furniture privileges. Though so far, Foster Dad has been letting (making) me sleep in the kennel at night and he says he is proud of how quiet I am at night. I think he just does not want to give up any more bed space!
Overall, I am adapting well and looking forward to finding my forever home with a loving family who will appreciate my unique personality and tracking skills.

Meet Chico, the new man in town! He's got puppy energy - high energy sometimes but naps frequently. Everything is new: crate training, potty training, meal times, playing with dogs (and understanding others may not want to play), and choosing appropriate toys. He's working on potty training. He loves his people - follows us everywhere and stays close in the yard. He's a champion couch snuggler and nap buddy. If you're interested in a puppy, this guy is the total pac... Things he's looking for in a forever home include: a family eager to expose him to new things, patience, plenty of toys to keep him chewing the right items, consistent crate and potty training, and LOTS of love.
