Dolly
Profile
Meet Dolly! After arriving frightened and shut down, this sweet girl has made wonderful progress and is slowly learning to trust people and explore her surroundings. She is house-trained, gets along well with cats, and would thrive in a home with another confident dog to help guide her.

Dolly is continuing to do great! She is SO sweet and she's done great with meeting new people. She is still quite jumpy when it comes to noises and sudden movements, but has ventured up the stairs on her own several times! I found a food that she would consistently eat - she is very picky. She LOVES treats unless she's distracted/scared, she loves bully sticks at night, she still does her business outside consistently and has had NO accidents in the house. She's als... She's also now had two baths and her ears are completely cleared up and her undercoat is all brushed out now. She also responds to her name.
The only "issue" is that she will eat poop if she finds it. I keep the yard picked up, but if she beats me to it, she's got it in her mouth! Yuck...
Dolly is scheduled for an echo on November 20th. Lastly, her recovery from her spay has been uneventful and she's doing great on the pain meds. I plan to take her travel donut off tomorrow when I can be home with her to observe and ensure she doesn't lick her incision.

Please welcome, Dolly! This beautiful 6 year-old girl has come to RAGOM as a breeder surrender. Her transformation has been so fun and rewarding to experience. When she first arrived, she was completely shut down. She was so frightened and unsure of her surroundings that she didn't eat, drink or even go to the bathroom for the first three days.

Today she is a completely different dog who is showing more of her personality and is curious about the world around her. She's also beginning to understand that humans can be kind and trusted.
She is genuinely one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. There is such a gentle and loving soul underneath all of that fear. She likes to stay in a specific area of the house (lower level). She is more and more curious about the rest of the house and will occasionally come up the stairs, but she quickly returns to her space. She regularly goes outside to do her business in the fenced yard and has NEVER had a single accident inside the house! She's finicky about food but is generally a good eater (especially if I give her some freeze-dried chicken patties from Stella and Chewy).
She is a DREAM on a leash and the perfect companion for walks. She does not have any interest in chasing critters that we encounter on walks. I also have a cat that regularly interacts with her without any incident. She has been around both women and men but no children yet. I can't imagine she would be concerning with dog-savvy children. She would probably do best with another dog in the house. I see her look to my dog for guidance.
She's up-to-date on her vaccines and is on preventives (given on the first of the month).
