This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Hi! My name is Emma. I am only 5 weeks old. I came to RAGOM by a Good Samaritan from Good Earth County. If not for this person, I would probably not have been able to know what life can be like. I was found abandonded with my 4 other brothers and sisters.

We are just now learning about love, and some good food!! We are not fans of the baths they keep giving us.

It will be a few weeks before we will be able to have OUR very own forever homes. However, if you should look at ME and think you're my mother, let our placement advisors know....as we would love to meet you.

More later after we have had time to get stronger.

Please remember as you look at my adorable pictures:

  • Puppies are a LOT of work in their first year!
  • Puppies have a small, immature bladder and cannot go a full workday without being let out. You will need to make arrangements for someone to come in midday until I am about 6 months old.
  • Puppies NEED obedience, socialization, and manners training! RAGOM gets many unmannered and undersocialized dogs surrendered due to the simple lack of training and socialization when the puppy was young. This is a crucial time for puppies to learn about so many things!

Dog Updates

  1. Emma has been adopted by the G-H Family. Lucy the Puggle promised her they would have lots of fun in their fenced yard during the week and at their lake cabin on the weekends. Foster Mom, resident dogs and cats will miss her. Special thanks to Barb K. who fostered Emma and her four siblings during their first two months with RAGOM. Read more → Read less ↑

Quacky: Except for the four days she spent visiting that other foster home while Mom was out of town. I heard she had a great time playing with their eight-year-old boy and his baby brother. Their Mom reported that Emma very gently took food from the one-year-old’s hand without nipping at the fingers. The Mom also said Emma slept under their bed at night and didn’t have any accidents. And they tested her by giving her a bone and taking it away several times. I heard she didn’t growl or snap when they took her bone. They said she’d do well in a home with children.

Party Cat: Yeah, yeah . . . I’m glad they liked her. Now can we talk about what’s happening here?

Quacky: Get up on the wrong side of the litter box this morning?

Party Cat: Just trying to keep this report on track! Let’s talk about her foster brother, Jake.

Quacky: I’ve never seen him play so hard! She keeps him running! And playing tug! Jake is four times bigger than Emma, but that doesn’t bother her a bit.

Party Cat: She knows her own mind. Most pups look at older dogs to see what they should do next. Not Emma! She just charges straight ahead.

Quacky: She’s fast and flexible. I think she might be a good Agility dog.

Party Cat: Definitely athletic. Takes good care of herself. Good appetite and sleeps quietly all night.

Quacky: And likes treats! What else do our fellow felines need to know?

Party Cat: She’s still a baby. See how she cuddles with Mom? And she likes us!

Quacky: Wants to play with us like she does with Jake. Still hasn’t figured out that we are CATS.

Party Cat: She’s learning. Another couple of weeks and you’ll be napping with her the way you do with Jake and Suzie.

Quacky: So what’s the bottom line?

Party Cat: Emma will do well in a home with dog-savvy cats and other dogs.

    Quacky: And kids.

Party Cat: You always have to have the last word . . .

  3. Hi! My name is Emma and I’ve taken on the responsibility of a new foster home. There’s a lot of work to be done here. Most of my time is devoted to my 75-pound foster brother, Jake. He needs to be chased around the living room and given wrestling lessons on the floor. Then there’s my older and more dignified foster sister, Suzie. Suzie is happy with a gentle kiss and a wagging tail every so often. This brings us to the cats. I have been told I am cat friendly. I would... Read more → Read less ↑

If they would just stand still long enough to let me!

Foster Mom is okay. She feeds me, takes me outside, plays with me, and lets me nap next to her on the couch. She knows my name so she can call me when she wants something and I (usually) come right over. Sometimes she puts me in a kennel and tells me to go to sleep. She says I do a good job keeping my kennel clean and doing my “business” outside. (If it’s “business,” shouldn’t I be getting paid for it?) She does keep a close eye on me because I sometimes forget to tell her I need to make a business trip outside.

I must say I’ve got things going pretty smoothly here. But I have this nagging feeling that there is a family out there who needs my help on a permanent basis. If you know this family, please have them email placement@ragom.org and I’ll be with them shortly.

  4. Here are some recent pictures of sweet little Emma. Emma is almost completely potty trained. Emma is really good with other dogs. Emma is really a sweet little girl she loves to play, loves to romp, and she really does love to go for walks. Emma knows to kennel up and has got the daily routine down fairly well. She is in the kennel for 5 to 6 hours every day and her kennel is clean. In the evening, once I've gotten home, it's dinner time and play play play, and then when it's time to go to bed,... In the evening, once I've gotten home, it's dinner time and play play play, and then when it's time to go to bed, everybody comes into the bedroom, and she runs right into her kennel in the bedroom and she sleeps all night with no noise at all. She's a good little sleeper.

Emma is definitely ready for her forever; are you her forever? Emma really needs to find her forever family so she can bond with them.

Let your placement adviser know if you are interested in meeting sweet little Emma.

  5. Hi, EVERYBODY! Emma here!! I am a petite little girl that loves her people... I love to play, fight, and roughhouse with my sisters. I love to run and play outside. I am very adventurous and love to explore. I was spayed last week and did great, so FM says I am all ready for my forever home - not sure what that is, but I want some. :-) Enjoy my picture! 6. The puppies are growing up strong and healthy; they are eating just great and sleeping all night!! They play with each other full steam......then they are sound asleep. I do not want to peg them as anything specific personality-wise, until I have had some more time with them. They run and play outside in the grass - see pictures. They each deserve a FOREVER family and I am sure nobody will be disappointed with any of these little sweeties.

They just love my other foster puppy, Oracle, who is 9 months old, and follow her everywhere. At first, I think they thought she was their momma. But Oracle just hangs out with them and they bite and play with her and she is just so sweet with them.

Next Saturday, they get their last puppy vaccines and microchipped; the following week, they get spayed and neutered, and then they are ready for their families.

They are puppies - precious! Puppy kisses! Who is ready for some?
