Jacob

Dear RAGOM, with broken hearts we are sharing that we lost Louie (Jacob 15-312) suddenly on June 14, 2026. Louie was 12-1/2 yrs old and came to RAGOM from the Red Lake Reservation.  He had a rough start; coming in with Lyme disease and very underweight. Louie made a great recovery as we loved him, restored his health through nutrition and provided daily activity to build his muscle. He lived a long and very healthy life with us and his RAGOM sister, Cassie 12-117. 

Louie was a great protector of his little sister and loved going in daily walks throughout the neighborhood. He learned to count to 3 with the help of our favorite Mail Carrier who provided special treats to our doggies. 1 Large, 1 Medium and 1 Small treat.  Louie would collect his treats, set them down and go back to his pile to start snacking!

We miss him so much. We have such a big hole in our heart where he belongs. We know he was greeted in heaven by his sister, Cassie-leaving us on her birthday. 

We loved him and thanked him for bringing us so much joy and laughter as we said goodbye. We are so grateful to have him in our lives.

Jacob has been adopted and has found his FUREVER HOME. He now is a young brother to Cassie, also a former RAGOM dog. They play chase in their back yard, run and jump and are so happy together. Jake is lucky to have found Mary, Dave and Cassie, and them to have found Jacob!! I have complete faith that they will take excellent care of him. We will always love him and remember "Jakee" as the special loving dog he is.

Jacob did really well after his neuter, like nothing even happened. He is such a sweet boy, every morning he jumps on the bed and licks our faces and cuddles, we love it! He is nothing but love!! 

Jacob would do great with a family who has kids (probably older ones for now because he jumps up when excited). He does need a little training. But he loves all the attention and petting and just soaks it in.

Jake is recovering from surgery yesterday (neuter) and doing well. Lots of rest. All the vets and techs fell fast in love with him. He continues to melt my heart. He would really do best with a family that will not yell at him for misbehaving because he seems to have been traumatized from this in the past. Especially by men. He runs in the bedroom and hides. My heart breaks for him. He is a fast learner, very smart, but just needs some guidance. I will send more photos soon.

A big thank you going out to Lesllie S. for taking such great care of Jake over Christmas! He was well taken care of and we are all very grateful! We now know Jake is cat friendly...no issues there. Our resident dog, Beau was so happy to see Jake again after the holiday, Jake really gets a long with other dogs and appreciates having another around for company.  He is very respectful.

 

A big HUGE thank you to Bob Martin for sponsoring Jake and his treatment for Lyme disease. I am so sorry for your loss, I'm sure Tucker was an amazing, special dog, and well loved once you two found each other. Jake finished his last dose of doxycycline for the Lyme yesterday and is doing wonderful. He sends you lots of doggy kisses and cuddles!!

Jake is healing great from his Lyme disease. He has only 2 days of antibiotics left. He is spunky and full of energy. He will be neutered on the 7th of January and then will be available for adoption. He is a sweet, sweet boy, and is definitely a Velcro dog (loves to be with his people). He needs a family that will care for him and spend time with him walking, playing, cuddling, and including him in social activities. We are working on his manners of begging and pulling on the leash while walking. He is gorgeous and will make someone very happy. All he has to give is love.
