RAGOM

Lucy

Profile

Lucy is a five year old golden retriever that came into RAGOM from a breeder auction.   She is a shy girl who is just beginning to learn what a dog's life is all about. Because she is getting accustomed to new things, kids in her home should be 15 or older as loud noises can startle her.  Lucy can live with cats and other dogs.  Another dog in her home should be confident to show her the ropes. She's pretty low energy and a physical fence is required as she startles easily and is a flight risk.  Lucy's forever home needs to be one with patience and understanding as she discovers her new life.

    Meet Lucy! πŸΎπŸ’›

Lucy is a beautiful red Golden Retriever with a heart every bit as warm as her rich red coat. After spending much of her life as a breeder mama, Lucy came into RAGOM's care in March and quickly surprised everyone with a special secret—she was expecting one final litter of puppies. On April 27, Lucy welcomed her last litter, and we're happy to share that all of her puppies have since found their forever families.

    Now it's Lucy's turn.

After years of focusing on others, Lucy is beginning her journey of learning what it means to simply be a beloved family pet. She was recently spayed on July 8 and will remain with her foster family while she recovers over the next couple of weeks. As she heals, we're excited to begin searching for the patient and loving forever home she deserves.

Lucy is still a timid girl and can be easily startled by loud or unexpected noises. The Fourth of July festivities were especially challenging for her, and she continues to gain confidence as she experiences the world outside of a breeding environment. One thing that has helped Lucy tremendously is her foster family's resident dogs. She looks to them for reassurance, guidance, and confidence, and because of this, Lucy will require a confident, friendly resident dog in her forever home.

Lucy is not the kind of dog who will rush up to strangers or immediately show her personality. Instead, she's looking for a family willing to let her move at her own pace, celebrate the small victories, and help her discover all the joys she's missed out on. With patience, understanding, and the support of a canine companion, Lucy is already showing signs of coming out of her shell.

Lucy has spent her life caring for others. Now it's her turn to be loved, spoiled, and cherished. If you're looking for a sweet soul who just needs a little time, a lot of patience, and a confident dog friend by her side, Lucy may be the perfect addition to your family.

Could you be the forever family that helps Lucy write her next chapter? πŸΆπŸ’•
